Climate worship has a lot in common with fascism, particularly Nazism.

Hitler was a vegan and a bit obsessed with living what we would consider to be the granola lifestyle.
The Germans, after all, did give us the Hippies. Instead of rubbing out the mongrel races threatening the folk, the Climate Nazis want to rub out those who threaten Gaia. This is not an exaggeration. There was a green wing to National Socialism and it was very influential. The mystique of blood and soil was exactly that, blood and soil. For the Nazis, the folk were inextricably bound up in the land. Romantic feelings toward nature were an essential part of the Nazi movement. Bill Nye The Nazi Guy | The Z Blog

Your Say

Going further, consider what Nye says about wind energy. His statement is that it is almost competitive with fossil fuel. What a complete azzwagon he is! I can just see 18 wheelers trucking down the interstate powered by wind turbines now.
He goes farther down the wormhole of thought abuse. He states that taxing fossil fuels will bring wind on line with fossil fuel for expense. That's awesome! Now I can pay top coin for wind-manufactured autos! May I please also pay a premium for hybridization in said vehicles?
It took me a couple years of searching the interwebs to figure out that all of the proposed wind in Washington state combined will not equal one hydro-electric turbine's output. Now consider the far-flung sources of wind versus monster hydro power all in one place. See why hydro power is bad? because it is a threat to wind.
Everything is a threat to Bill's world view. Republicans are a threat. Petroleum is a threat. Interstates are a threat. His threat environment is so rich he needs another valium to calm down and think of some new ways to "win" on climate.

From the land of Wind and Solar idiocy, Vermont comes this smack in the socialist face.
Utility CEO: Green energy plan DOA in northern Vermont http://watchdog.org/246069/vermont-green-energy-plan-doa/

You cannot believe how screwed up one state can get chasing unicorns.

For the past almost 13 years we have been using Hughes satellites for our internet access and it is mostly deplorable. Every single day this thing pisses me off severely. We have the same rig on our Florida house and it too is not worth a damn.

Know why we put up with this?

Last July my XP machine cashed it's last check and it could not be salvaged so I bought a new machine with Win 8.1 and it is a dismal failure of the highest order. Almost pure junk, and it wasn't a cheap version either.

Know why I put up with this?

The world is devolving, slowly but surely.
Because it is so slow most are unaware.
But it's speeding up all the time and soon no one will be able to not acknowledge it, but it is too late. The end of the devolution is not determinable because each person has his own idea of what the end will be.

We put up with these things because we have no choice but to go along for the ride on some things. There will never be true broadband where we live and computers will continue to get worse and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

It's all coming apart and all you have to be is semi-conscious to realize it but many prefer to be in a stupor so it seems.

Back on topic, as fossil fuels become more expensive alternatives will become more attractive. The gov't controls the fossil fuels but you control your alternatives. See the diff?

Everything the gov't touches gets worse, while things you control get better.

The gov't doesn't care about you.
Only you can care about you.

When your fossil fuel access is limited or cut off you have no choice but to endure the best you can, even if the contents of your freezer are destroyed. Thank you gov't.

When a hi-flying buzzard shits the entire remains of a rabbit onto one of your solar panels cutting it's output 95% you'll clean it up and get on with your day like normal. Thank you me.

You can observe the clues and act accordingly or you can go along for the ride, up to you.

I prefer the former and therefore believe that in less than 2 years I will be completely out of the online fad after having been in it in one form or another since 1988. It is gov't ruled and I have no control over it.

Faze on dood.....

Ghost: Hughes net is the devil himself. Drop it at all costs asap.

We now have an ISAP that serves mostly corporate entities, but we went to the mat to get it. Very much better. Also, secure the living daylights out of everything. Use long passwords for everything.

Best wishes.

Casey, we've tried, continuously for almost 10 years now, and there are no other ways. If there were we'd have done it.

We're supposedly too far back in the sticks and no one around us is interested in broadband so it is not costs effective for anyone to run the lines. Same with out FL house - too far away from *society*.

We're paying $90/mth for what we have and would pay twice that for anything better if we could.

This is one of the *costs* to live in mostly solace without hordes of people around.

Keep trying. My wife is a 1st class scrounger for having found ours, which isn't rightfully available, and other than the neighbors on the butte who took the relay (for free internet), we don't tell any where ours comes from.

The scourge of our era is broadnand availability, and the smart tech company (few they are) will overbuy bandwidth and push it out. Gott in himmel they are mostly idiots. They do exactly the opposite.

Best.

The Germans that I knew in my youth were always forming up in demitasse battalions and marching through the forest. I hadn't seen such devotion until I spent time in California.
