The weird thing about the Reagan years is they may as well have never happened.

All the good that was done in those years has been rolled back
and some of it so quickly it is hard remember that was ever done. What’s crazier, is immediately after Reagan, his party went right back to believing what they believed before he won two landslide elections. That is, they had to be Democrat-lite in order to win elections. Oh Canada | The Z Blog

Your Say

The GOP vigorously opposed Reagan, preferring Ford in 1976. Once Reagan was elected the Party Elite undermined him, leaked to the media, and ridiculed him. They then nominated GHWB, Dole, GWB X 2, McCain, Romney, and prefer another Bush, as many Bushes as they can find. The Republican Party isn't conservative, hasn't been conservative, maybe never was conservative, on one or two occassions it tolerated conservatives. It never liked conservatives. It's engaged in a scheme to import millions of criminals and Democrat voters to subvert the possibility of conservatives ever winning again.

The GOP/RNC is playing a game of chicken and we think if we explain why crashing a car isn't logical they will stop. Instead, we will swerve away from them and the GOP/RNC will get what it wants while we are smugly explaining why we are more responsible, even as we withdraw from culture and politics. The GOP/RNC intends to engineer game after game of "chicken" until you crash into their car and force them out into the street and beat in their brains. They know you will always swerve. They aren't impressed by your sense of responsibility or anything else about you. What you think is good they see as a sign you are a chump and easily manipulated. Why wouldn't the GOP/RNC think you a dunce, you keep electing them even as you explain how they are working against you or conspiring with your enemies. 90% of Republican voters will supply their own explanation how a liberal nominee is really conservative, whether he comes from Texas or Massachusetts. Too many on the Right side see it as their job to vote for whatever pile of garbage the GOP/RNC get to the starting block so we can have the usual crap sandwich rather than an unfamiliar entre'.

It's more important that the GOP Elite's game be destroyed than who wins in 2016. If you don't break the GOP there will be no opposition to the DNC.

"That meant the choices before the voters would be between the metastasizing welfare state of the Republicans or the metastasizing welfare state of Democrats."

Declare all people enjoying the Free-sh*t "Dependents of the State" and lose the right to vote for x years after the last payment is given.

Socialism will die overnight except for in hte lounges of the True-Believers.

"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic" ~Ben Franklin.

Same thing with the Newt Revolution, in a lesser way. All the changes, all the rules, all the work they did... all reversed. As if nothing happened.
