"The fall of Trantor," said Seldon, "cannot be stopped by any conceivable effort.

It can be hastened easily, however.
The tale of my interrupted trial will spread through the Galaxy. Frustration of my plans to lighten the disaster will convince people that the future holds no promise to them. Already they recall the lives of their grandfathers with envy. They will see that political revolutions and trade stagnations will increase. The feeling will pervade the Galaxy that only what a man can grasp for himself at that moment will be of any account. Ambitious men will not wait and unscrupulous men will not hang back. By their every action they will hasten the decay of the worlds. Have me killed and Trantor will fall not within three centuries but within fifty years and you, yourself, within a single year." Your Say

As Western Civilization gets closer and closer to the 'cliff', the more clarity we will have as it its/our fate.

Considering how many things that can fail now, its kinda hard to pick which one will finally do us in.

btw... China has a several hundred million surplus of men between the ages of 18 and 64, courtesy of their one-child/family law. Don't worry, nothing to be alarmed about.

Carry on.

Prepare for the inconceivable, the impossible, the surprising. And/or just adapt, or not, to the inevitable.

Just as massive calamity is imminent a conversion almost instantly takes place upon the normally complacent.

Suddenly, their lives take a serious nature, and they start to act as normal people rather than their former drone self.

Unfortunately at that point it will be too late for them, the gates will have closed.

Claw as they will it will only garner them small pieces of high speed lead from great distances.

The kindest part is they will never know what hit them.

They had their chance and they frivolously wasted it.

So much better we all would have been if they had pulled their weight all along.
