Romney won because there was no consensus conservative opposition candidate.

It wasn't for lack of different potential candidates and their supporters yelling at each other and smearing each other.
None of that yelling did anything except clear a path for Romney to the nomination. And then conservatives could self-righteously stay home while Obama grinned at another victory. We don't need another replay of 2012. If we put politicians first. We lose. If we put ideas first, then win or lose, we build a movement. Sultan Knish: Believe in Ideas, Not Politicians

Your Say

This time The Establishment is splitting between Rubio, LEB, Walker. Fight for the guy(gal) you think best and ignore everyone else. Don't try to preemptively compromise to get enemies on your side, all you do is elect the enemy.

If I hear one more Gomer say "who's going to win, I will support him" I will snap. People like that are the problem that empowers the dishonest Fox News and relies on Karl Rove, or anyone else saying "most electable" 30 times per day. It's a trick. Everyone saying "most electable" has a choice and wants you to support him. These people don't care about reality, just convincing you their choice is your choice. You can't be a chump and still be a citizen.

This election is THE chance to put finis to the machine GOP. There needs to be the same non-politician individuals running for Congress to get the hacks out.

If not this time it's over. The Country will slide into some Venezuelan type government with all the attendant decline.

Don't get yer hopes up Chuck. I think we're beyond the point of no return.
The only one that could do anything at all is Trump.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was in the crosshairs of some long range guy or, maybe a suicide bomber.

What with the masses of Low Information Voters, elections these days are little more than popularity contests. Every fool's vote is equal to every wise man's vote, but there are 100 fools for every wise man. Most people are too disengaged to win over by convincing them on the issues that these LIVs aren't even aware exist in the first place.
If only the knuckleheads could be persuaded not to vote at all we'd be better off.
