When I was 16, I went on an 80 mile backpacking trip with an Explorer scout troop at the Boy Scout ranch, Philmont, in NM. There were many boys, and very few girls. We were out for 12 days, and for 6 of those days in the middle of the trip, I was menstruating. I had packed an entire box of tampons in the bottom of my pack, and even though we only had "facilities" every 4 days, managed to work it out so that not only was awareness not raised, no one was even aware it was happening. What is WRONG with these people? Shaking my head.
