There are 2.5 million stars in my pocket

—stored in the SkyVoyager app, and mapped instantaneously relative to my position on the Earth’s surface.
Nine hundred and forty North American bird species and their songs are included with iBird Pro Guide to Birds. I have nearly unlimited access to music; I can audio record my entire day; I can record high definition video and send it wirelessly. There are over 40,000 messages in my Gmail inbox. The world’s major newspapers are continually updated by the minute. Thanks to my mobile web browser, I have access to more words than were contained in the National Library of Ireland on June 16, 1904. Stars in My Pocket Like Bits of Data

Your Say

Yeah, ALL that for ONLY $120 a month whether you need/want it or not.

In the 30+ years I have been dealing with computers I have always wanted bigger and bigger monitors to get more and more stuff done. In 1998 I had (2) 20" CRT monitors and in 2008 I had (2) 28" LCD monitors, than 2 years ago I added a 4" (approx) Samsung cell. (I've had a cell since 1994).

The Samsung lies mostly useless on the desk (turned off) and is all but dysfunctional with it's tiny screen even though it has every worthwhile app known to civilized man and 64gb of *stuff* on it's simm card. It's not even very useful for making simple phone calls. I never understood the reasoning behind texting and don't do it or accept it.

In 20 years the eye doctors are going to make a killing. You read it here first.

"I can audio record my entire day;..."

NOTE: Anyone over 35 years old, please take note that the world has changed.

This phrase is a landmark that denotes the end of sincere and open verbal dialogue on many many issues (in socialspace) and that if you ARE somehow verbally engaged (and from my recent history provocateurs under the age 35), you best have your responses fully thought out and measured. No Brainstorming and shooting from the hip as you never know what audio splice, what sound clip will be used against you ... forever.

(Yes, I have had occasions with several people with their smart phones whom I have strongly suspected of doing such a thing. Problem is, how do you say to someone politely that they "hang up their smart phones at the door"? It may come to that...)

Yeah, you have all that data at your fingertips.

But the signal-to-noise ratio is pretty damn small.
