Shut up about breast cancer awareness. We are so frickin aware I’m gonna vomit.

People are always “raising awareness” about things everybody knows about.
It is the activism of cowards. Especially women, who are so desperate for safety and approval. When I got lupus there was this big pull to “get involved” with what I call the “bourgeois disease complex”: the annual “months” and ribbons and in the case of lupus, really corny mascots like butterflies. I think I willed myself into remission just to avoid it. It was all so… female. Ugh. Five Feet of Fury – Kathy Shaidle – Me three.

Your Say

MLB's idiotic Stand Up To Cancer is the worst. Yeah, that cancer, what a bully. If only people had stood up to it, they would have never gotten sick or died!

All that money for awareness, but not one dollar for research. I had cancer, my first and second wives had cancer and I don't need football players wearing pink shoes to make me aware. And yes, the NFL pays the Susan Coleman org big bucks to pretend to be cancer fighters.

Go plant a tree, that should do it!

And Heaven and Gawd Almighty help you if you refuse to wear the ribbon, or refuse to "walk in the event" and proclaim your allegiance. If you say no, you're a pariah of the worst magnitude. I'm all for cancer, autism, heart disease research, but come on. Billions of dollars raised (no necessarily transferred, but raised), added to the billions of dollars from the Feds? Where does it all go. Ribbons don't cost that much.

Correct.
I'm reminded of an article I read in Penthouse in 1979 about the American Cancer Society. I'm reaching back a long ways so bear with me. Since it's inception in the early 20th century til then they had collected hundreds of millions of dollars from various and sundry sources and yet STILL there was no cure for cancer. Where had all this money gone?

Anyone, and this includes just about everyone in the US, that has been touched by cancer should be ready to grab the pitchforks and torches and mount an attack on these despicable cretins that are purposely holding back on a cure as there is no money to be made if a cure is discovered.

They hold the silver leash around the necks of you, your children and everyone else you know.
