[Bumped] And, then, too, points for John McCain’s Vietnam prisoner-of-war sufferings eventually run out.

McCain used them up extravagantly over the years by being the US Senate'€™s leading Republican sell-out and by betraying Conservatism and the GOP again and again and again in every major legislative confrontation. Personally, I'€™m pretty much out of gratitude for John McCain'€™s Vietnam services. Never Yet Melted

Your Say

You don't have to like John McCain's Politics, you don't have to like his personality, but you absolutely must respect his service, and the service of thousands of others who went through ordeals like he did.

Trump is just an @$$#01e. He is not a conservative, he is not a Republican. And his insult to McCain is an insult to thousands of former Pows and millions of veterans. He should be expelled from the Republican party and denounced.

Further is just plain wrong about Mexicans. They are far less criminal than native blacks. Ron Unz has extensively explored this fact:

"Race and Crime in America: The unspoken statistical reality of urban crime over the last quarter century." by Ron Unz • July 20, 2013

"The Myth of Hispanic Crime: Talk TV sensationalists and axe-grinding ideologues have fallen for a myth of immigrant lawlessness." by Ron Unz • January 26, 2010

Un controlled immigration is a serious social and economic problem, but it is not because of criminality.

The crime of habla illegals is how quickly they assimilate into single motherhood.

Posted by: james wilson [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 19, 2015 11:43 AM

Fat Man, McCain has used up his welcome a long time ago with many veterans myself included. His politics suck, he's a RINO, closer to a Donkey.

There are many other POW's that don't blow that horn like McCain.

Running his out of office will do the country a world of good.

As for the illegals, frogmarching all them back across the border soonest will improve this country's bottom line fast.

Nobody tells me what I MUST do.

McCain needs to get some new material, or better yet, go home to AZ and plop down on the front porch with a glass of tay and all them great grandbaby's, and stay there.

Trump is not wrong about Mexicans, Fat Man, not at all. Unfortunately the "immigrants commit less crimes than natives" propaganda is wrong.

lapdonline.org/all_most_wanted

The studies comparing immigrant crime to native crime compare incoming Mexicans with other Mexicans, i.e. comparing them to a known criminal class. But compared to non-Hispanic groups the illegals commit an eye-poppingly higher number of crimes. To put a finer point on it, Unz is a liar and the statistics were deliberately ginned up as political propaganda, as so many are.

I can take or leave Trump, but as long as he's the only one beating the drum on immigration, I'm with him 100%. As the commenter points out on NYM, McCain burned up his POW points a long time ago and has been selling us out for decades. Besides, he popped off first insulting Trump and everyone that supports him.

The establishment is distoring what Trump said in Iowa a la Romney's "binders of women" or Bill Clinton's "Obama's plans on Iraq are a fantasy." They're making something out of nothing.

Either you know this already and are playing the game or... well, as they say in poker, if you can't spot the sucker, its you.

Ann Coulter does her research. You may disagree with her or her message, but you wouldn't do well to disagree with her facts. Here's what she has to say on the "illegal immigrants commit less crime" BS:

It's long past time that someone refused to go along will the bullshit about the appalling war-mongering fraud McCain.

To think he has lasted this long. McShame needs to take a hike. I'm a Vet and I lost all respect for his ideaology 2 election cycles back. His service has nothing to do with his lunacy. Maybe? A RINO and a chump in 0b0Hica's back pocket is all that's left of him now..

Few people have noticed that the range of acceptable political discussion has been radically reduced over the past several decades, and especially after PNAC's "New Pearl Harbor".

Trump's kicking open the Overton Window is an unalloyed good, no matter your political predilections.

Posted by: bilejones [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 19, 2015 5:59 PM

I'm sorry, but I no more accept absolute deference for McCain's service than I do the "absolute moral authority" of a parent who loses a child to violence and uses that experience to try and deny me my fundamental rights.

McCain went through undeniable hell as a member of our armed forces.

But Benedict Arnold was a war hero before he was a traitor, too.

Posted by: The Hammertoss [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 19, 2015 8:27 PM

Benedict Arnold was a legitimate war hero and then he changed. John McCain is a treasonous prick even though he once was a hero. One doesn't preclude the other.

McCain, and his same-sex Senator Linda Graham vehemently urged the US to start another war, this one in Syria, and urged the US to arm the so-called Free Syrian Army, which is an Al Qaeda offshoot. Eff him, he's been effing us for years.

Posted by: tscottme [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2015 12:51 AM

McCain no longer deserves the flag he's wrapped in.

Posted by: chasmatic [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2015 5:53 AM

Yeah I'm tired of McCain's behavior and abusing his status as a war hero, too. I think nobody actually likes John McCain.

But that doesn't make what Trump said OK because he basically smeared every soldier that was captured and all their fellow troops, friends, and families. Saying "I like my heroes uncaptured" is just a step too far. Especially from a draft dodger.

Posted by: Christopher Taylor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2015 6:52 AM

McCain is not a hero. He is a traitor. Details available if you do the research. He has also stopped every investigation of Vietnam POW issues brought up in the Senate. Every time. Why? Ask fellow POW's who were in the Hanoi Hilton.

McCain will not leave the Senate until he is dead. He has too much to keep hidden.

If McCain is a hero then the caramel colored monkey is as well.

Open for ranting . . .

Posted by: Terry [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2015 9:59 AM

Anyone that dislikes Trump as a draft dodger surely would have no respect or support for Bill Clinton...yet there he is and served two tours in the White House staining the carpets. And anyone that dislikes Trump for disparaging the troops would have to explain Kerry who "authored" the winter soldier narrative and served tours as senator and sec. of a state department filled with incompetents such as himself that should have been stains on the carpet.

You are all a bunch of morons. read what I wrote. You and Trump will elect Hillary to be the last president of the United States.

Posted by: Fat Man [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2015 12:30 PM

This moron says you're about 30 years too late, Reagan was the last prez.

But you just keep standing there slamming that barn door shut, K?

How in the hell do people get this way?

bush sr: "Read my lips."
jethro klintin: "Look at harass!"
bush jr: "Pull my finger."
omgama: "Let me be perfectly clear, if I had a son."

For half of my life, at least, there have been a majority of stupid assed votists running loose out there and every last one of them has sanctioned the US you see all around you today.

Proof?
It's smeared all over Fat Man's words.
"Can I have more of the same kind sir?"

Fukkem ded.

And let's add this to the mix:
John McCain ‘Sang Like a Canary’ to the North Vietnamese

Posted by: bilejones [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2015 6:38 PM

So, lemme see if I get this right: We regard McCain as a war hero because he got captured?
Really?

Posted by: chasmatic [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2015 12:15 AM

It's part of the say-good, feel-good mantra that has hypnotized the most gullible. Like many other good words, the word hero has become something other than what it is. According to the new definition almost everybody is a hero these days.
A man puts on a dress-tadaaaa...he's a hero! Yayyyyy......

So now the guy that saves kids from a fire is just a heroic as a faggot. wunnerful....

Posted by: ghostsniper [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2015 4:25 AM

And while all this is going on, Iran is figuring out how to trade their $150 billion and oil for bomb-grade enriched uranium, ICBM and short range nuclear weapons from North Korea, China, Russia -- in a far shorter time than 5 or 10 years.

The Iranians don't need to build their own when they can buy those weapons off the shelf from our other enemies.

If we weren't so stupid we'd be nothing at all.

Remember a Hero is also a type of sandwich that consists of meat, cheese, and vegetables on a long narrow piece of bread. Maybe that is what they meant when they were describing McCain.
Sounds more plausible than how he describes himself.
