St Louis Blues

In 1954, the St. Louis Board of Education published an 18-page essay in favor of promoting moral values in the St. Louis public schools, including:
– Clean speech, thought, and conduct — Honesty — Goodwill and kindness — Loyalty — Respect for elders — Respect for the rights and property of others — Responsibility — Truthfulness — Reverence [ -- €œSuggestions for the Teaching of Moral and Spiritual Values in the St. Louis Public Schools, Saint Louis Public School Journal, January 1954 ]

The St. Louis Board of Education’s achievements between 2003 and 2011 include:
– 44 vacant buildings, many of which were vandalized — School board members engaging in shouting matches — “Pimp education” rap snacks becoming available in public school cafeterias — In one high school, blacks fighting each other and getting shot — In another high school, girls engaging in dozens of fights — In a third high school, “students” fighting each other in the cafeteria — And one high school administration caving in to threats of trouble from thugs by cancelling a dance —And one high school administration caving in to threats of trouble from thugs by cancelling a dance A Terrible Surrender « The Thinking Housewife

Your Say

This isn't the education system's fault, although they have plenty of things for which they are at fault. The comparison to the 50's reflects decades of a slow change to the American culture to the welfare state we find ourselves in today. Too many takers and not enough doers, made dangerously worse by a government who is quite happy to take from one to give to the other and mark it down as equality. The Progressives today belief that at the finish line, all Americans should be equal. The right has always believed that all Americans should be equal at the starting line. Herein, lies the difference between America's right and left political factions. Quite sad.

"– Clean speech, thought, and conduct — Honesty — Goodwill and kindness — Loyalty — Respect for elders — Respect for the rights and property of others — Responsibility — Truthfulness — Reverence"

All things I learned in the Boy Scouts of America. Where are they today? Oh yeah, demonized as anti-gay.

Great comment, Syd B. All true, sadly.

We need to give them a couple of cities that we clean up first. That will make it right when we tell them those places are theirs to run, live in and do with as they like. Separate but equal to start. Up to them to keep it that way. They want a welfare state, they have the place to have one. They can tax themselves to provide what ever level of welfare they want.

Any police force will be black. Politicians-black. School teachers-black. They'll have no one to blame but the thievin' Mayor and selectmen they put into office.

This is going to be the only solution unless you're going to have mass shootings and deportations.

Those values in the 50s were all very fine ones that children should certainly learn and show in their lives.

But its not up to schools to teach that, its up to parents. Schools should at most not attack, demean, or oppose those values, but their job is not moral instruction.

@Jimmy J: I'd already known those things by the time I joined the Cub Scouts. The scouts just reinforced them. Everybody else in my era did too.
Hint: Parents. Schools were too busy teaching meaningful things to be dragged backwards with parenting chores.

Make child birthing cheap and meaningless and don't be surprised if it's treated the same.

@veedub: Surely thou doth jest. You know very well that when you give someone something they abuse it and if they earn something they will cherish it.
Proof?

Look at all the trillions that have already been given to them, not to mention their very heritage of being born in a free country with all the opportunities available not to mention all of the favoritism afforded them and look at how they act.

No, giving them their own geographic spot on the map is not the answer unless you are talking about incarceration with hard labor to pay for their daily maintenance, like all the rest of us have to do.

Chuck:

Baltimore has an all back government and the police force is mostly black too. It didn't save them.

Those guidelines were developed for White people.
Black Negro Afro-American People of Color don't have to follow any rules other than survival of the fittest, jungle style. Goes back to their roots I guess.

As we will have to admit one day about the Muslim threat, the Black threat must be answered with the only language they understand: violence and death. Watch how the Hispanics align. They don't like Blacks so much either.

Whites and Hispanics tend to have a lot in common and share a similar temperament. Hispanics appear to be a bit more emotional than Whites, but Blacks are very emotional and aggressive. Whites and Hispanics share an antipathy towards Blacks and will work together when faced with a Black threat."

Ghost and Fat Man- You have the essence of it. Putting them in their own place, forces them to either own up or die. Their choice and I don't care which they choose. But they will have to choose.

They're not coming out for there to raise hell elsewhere.

VW, I'd just skip the foreplay and get down to the killing.

I haven't been down on the killing floor for some time now but I haven't forgotten how to do it.

I thought my days as a coon hunter were over.
