The Green Left's Fascist Roots

The fact of the matter is, the modern green movement did not spring into worldwide action out of nowhere in the 1960s
with Rachel Carson and the hippie movement. Modern environmentalism is largely rooted in Germany like a giant oak tree that tapped into German Romanticism, Existentialism, and Social Darwinism that flowered in the European continent throughout the 1800s -- all three of which valued Nature over people and laid the foundation of what is otherwise known as the green movement today. While Nazi racism is now in the rear-view mirror, it has been replaced with an anti-humanist agenda, but environmental tribalism can still be seen in its veritable worship of all things indigenous hiding behind the doctrine of multiculturalism. -- American Thinker

Environmentalism becomes inadequate and irrational when it fails to determine the benefits and detriments, and to clearly and completely specify those to be affected by environmental activism and passivism.
What is necessary, why, what will it cost, who benefits, who loses? Who decides and by what authority?
To speak of Nazis and their environmental policies is fine; how about the Bible's assignation of stewardship of the nonhuman forms of Earth to us folks, the semi-intelligent human strife forms?

Environmentalism, nothing more than another religion where one speaks of the unpredictable in terms of the unknowable to those unable to understand it's improbable.

Green Alarmism does not derive from science. It comes from a religion, the faux pagan worship of Gaia, the earth goddess. She is angry and must be propitiated by the sacrifice of human babies. The white liberals who are votaries of this religion have chosen brown and black babies to be the victims of the rituals of "population control", "zero population growth" and "reproductive choice".

Why has this bizarre cult arisen among what are supposed to be our most intelligent and skeptical class?

First we must observe the collapse of Christian belief in this class.

They are all Marxists now, not industrial grade Stalinists, but cultural Marxists theorized by Adorno, and Gramisci, and the French lumpen-philosopes such as Foucault and Derrida. But, even those variants of Marxism demands atheism.

Also atheism, especially, the nasty anti-intellectual atheism of Dawkins et. al., allows them to indulge their favorite passion -- Contempt for the unwashed masses of Americans -- the obese bitter clingers who inhabit fly-over country and cling to their guns and religion.

Having chosen atheism does not mean that they believe nothing. As Umberto Eco wrote:

"G K Chesterton is often credited with observing: "When a man ceases to believe in God, he doesn't believe in nothing. He believes in anything." Whoever said it - he was right. We are supposed to live in a sceptical age. In fact, we live in an age of outrageous credulity.

"The "death of God", or at least the dying of the Christian God, has been accompanied by the birth of a plethora of new idols. They have multiplied like bacteria on the corpse of the Christian Church ..."

VW summarizes nicely environmentalism of the destructive sort.
Where in the new Core Curriculum is the challenge to students to list the benefits and detriments of each of the dam projects we undertook, and to discuss which if any were worthwhile and the students' criteria for judgement?

Considering that V.I. Lenin was the father of the first communist government, I think that he knew what he was talking about when referring to communism.
From the Declaration of Independence:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights...

If there is no God and the rights of men are instead privileges conferred upon them by other men rather than God, then those rights are not "inalienable" and may just as easily be revoked by men as they can be allowed by privilege.
Removing God from the equation strips away the moral immutable foundation of rights.

Back in 1972, I was leading a Scout Troop on a seven day backpacking trip in Kings Canyon National Park. On the last night of the trip we set up camp at a lake about eight miles from the trailhead. We had twenty rambunctious young Scouts who, though they had hiked eight miles over a pass that day, were still in high spirits. As boys will be. There was some laughter and joking around as we set up camp.

Soon I was confronted by a humorless nature lover who informed me that the boys laughter and shouts were ruining his "wilderness experience." I apologized. He demanded that we not camp at the lake. I said we were already pretty settled in and weren't going to move. He was miffed, but I was resolute. Soon, we saw them packing up and moving on out to someplace where they could experience some "real solitude."

They were the only people we saw in seven days. Our bad luck to encounter such a pair of sourpusses. That was my first meeting with hard core enviros. I had no idea then that they would become so politically powerful. Now, they want to lock up the parks and get rid of the humans. No smiling, no joking, and NO FUN allowed. Such Puritanism. It is a religion.

Jefferson is still widely acknowledged as a deist.
