Too bad students don't study the effects of student loans on the lives of students after they finish their studies.

Indeed. And the great Bill Whittle points out that the student loan bubble and it's consequences have destroyed these kids' ability to start small businesses after college.

I think Whittle said, in his "Road to Hell" segment, that a chunk of bank loan capital has been diverted from small business loans to guaranteed student loans. From what monies remain for small business loans many students have such crippling student loan debt that won't qualify.

Bad news, man, bad news.

I guess math isn't one of her strong points.

If these "students" took Econ 101 through 202 and some business courses instead of Women's studies, they would have realized their own idiocy. Now they can learn that new Yoga position "Grab your Ankles".

I hope the entire millennial generation goes broke and stays there.
They elected this Jackass as our President, and they deserve to take the brunt of the damage he's done.
Do NOT allow discharge of student loans in bankruptcy... let them spend the rest of their lives repaying them.
Karma's a bitch, little boys and girls...

She does need help. She needs to understand that she ran up a debt and owes that money now. She needs to comprehend that when you buy a service, you have to pay for it. That's her problem, not ours.

What kind of lifelong mental lesion has been inflicted on that individual to where she never took into consideration the scale of those numbers?

In my world, and just about everyone I have ever known, $91k is HUGE coin and not to be dismissed so easily. The only time I took on that kind of thing involved serious real estate and it was with a better than 90% chance that I would get all my coin back, plus.

To blow $91k on a consumable like she did is beyond frivolous and she deserves whatever she gets, twice.

No sympathy from me.

Apparently there are thousands of students who are awarded their Bachelor's Degree every year who don't even know how to balance their checkbook. Giving them 4 years of student loans is more unethical than the meanest loan shark working for the mafia.

Well, maybe these kids will be able to find jobs working for those other kids who were smart enough to skip college entirely and get good jobs where they get their hands dirty, many of them starting up they own companies. Then maybe these college kids will start to get a real education.

Like all that I know, I saw this elsewhere on the intertunnel (and I think it may have been here at our host's place), but you can visualize a second by saying "a thousand one, thousand two", etc.

But what about a million seconds? What would that look like?

A million seconds ago was 11 days ago. [You can check my math, if you'd like.]

How about a billion?

It turns out that a billion seconds ago was in 1983.

And now let's try to visualize a trillion seconds ago.

A trillion seconds ago was in 30,000BC.

So when you say (and by no means are you the only one) that "[s]he needs to understand that she ran up a debt and owes that money now. She needs to comprehend that when you buy a service, you have to pay for it. That's her problem, not ours", I have to wonder what you would say about the $18 Trillion that the fed.gov owes to someone.

Don't get me wrong: The outstanding student loan debt is horrible. But the students of this country are no worse than all of us. We are all deeply in a debt that cannot be repaid.

Blaming me for running up the federal debt is like blaming Roseanne Barr's kids for her being fat. I didn't spend one thin dime of any of that money and I never voted for anyone who ran on spending more.

In any case, this kind of thing is a good warning of why not to go to college: its vastly overpriced for the quality of education, and all that money is either wasted on campus and profs who aren't worth the title, or spent to support causes you can't stand.

No problem for this young lady, as I can see she's rather comely. She just needs to find a Sugar Daddy to explain the math to her while she shows her gratitude in pleasant ways.

An excellent argument for Eugenics. And birth control by folks her parents' ages.
