Looking Up From The Ghetto

I do my shopping at the rich man’s grocer, rather than the stores serving the ghetto.
I cook my own meals and therefore prefer fresh meats and produce. Ghetto Lion, for example, has mostly prepared foods that are popular with ghetto dwellers. Anyway, at the checkout, a dough-faced fat girl with a pin in her nose address me with “wassup.”
I’m led to believe that the pin in her nose signals her availability to black men. Almost always, the pram-faced girls in the ghetto have caramel colored kids, along with the nose pin. Perhaps it is a coincidence. Her sing-songy language told me she was a ghetto girl. White people talking black always sound odd to me. It’s like hearing a Chinese guy speak Spanish. There’s something unnatural about it. I speak some ghetto so we got along fine enough as she rang up my purchases. at The Z Blog

Your Say

I have taken to driving about 5 miles to the other side of town to go the grocery store. Even within the same chain, it makes a difference. Even at Wal*Mart.

Down around my place thirty miles north of the Mex border the demographics in our fourteen thousand pop town is a third Meskins, a third senior citizens and the rest locals in standard town employment. Needless to say the shopping choices are limited and accurately directed at the consumers. our home-town grocery store is the best around for fresh meats, produce, so forth. maybe we can get canned goods a few cents cheaper at the Wal-Mart but why bother? We support our local merchants. We have thirty-two churches and fifteen restaurants. The restaurants are mostly Meskin and the rest small mom & pop or fast foods.

Most of the counter help is no-childs-left-behind so making change can be dicey.

We don't have it as bad as some other places.

Yup.

I carp and whine constantly about being surrounded by brain-washed "progressives," but one thing for sure:

If you wanna be surrounded by white people, move to a liberal small town. They're so busy touting Diversity they don't even notice everybody looks alike.

Or you can live in a small rural county like we do with 15k people total and supposedly 8 of em are negro's though I very rarely see them. I don't keep track but I'd guess I see colored folks maybe 2-3 times a year, mostly when we go to the big city far away. Can't say I miss them or our lives are deprived because of it. I bet we're better off. I mean, what good can come from scourges? Same with mexicans and orientals. It's not unusual for us to go a week or more without seeing anybody, cept wild animals. I like it this way. Less aggravation. About 99% of all the problems I've ever had were created by other people, and the rest weren't problems at all, in that context.
