I am quite puzzled as to why so many on the right appear to give up so easily and quickly.

One thing that I think has changed is that, although conservatives don’t dominate the Republican Party, they do constitute a greater percentage of it than they did in recent decades.
The solution to the problem of the GOP would be to support more conservatives, and work for that. I am quite puzzled as to why so many on the right appear to give up so easily and quickly. And if you say to me: what do you mean quickly?—I’ll point out that the left has been working for at least 150 years in order to reach the point it’s reached now, maybe even more. And working very very hard, too. I assure you they never give up, although there have been times when it must have looked to them like they were losing. neo-neocon - The road ahead

Your Say

Single issue voters. If the candidate doesn't voice the exact message, they will walk away, stay home and lose rather than vote for someone that isn't perfect in all respects.

Someone will find something that Cruz said about charter schools or immunization. Perhaps it will be about eating a sandwich into the shape of a gun in school that will cause a minor coronary in West Boobwringer, Arkansas.

Many conservatives don't really want a change, they just want to go on record as disagreeing with some situation.

Because they are exquisitely attuned to people's opinion of them, they think announcing to the universe some logical flaw or hypocritical feature of Leftism will cause Leftists to slow down or change.

Notice how excited our side gets when some liberal STARTS to doubt some liberal doctrine. I think this is caused because we recognize if some liberals think like us they will act on that belief. Our side seems to implicitly understand that all of our beliefs will not lead to action. At the heart of Leftism is activism. At the heart of conservatism is acceptance and patience for inaction.

Conservative people on the right are as soft as a sneaker fulla shit, that's why.

Conservatives hush and LIEberals whine.
Like parents and children.
PC parents put up with it.
50 years ago they beat their asses.

Real conservatives are individualists and hence either anti-politics or at least against intrusive politics. On the other hand, politics is the left's passion and the left's game. It's not our game.

Sometimes what looks like giving up to someone less discerning and aware of the situation is actually just recognizing the end has already passed. Its not giving up to jump in the lifeboat of the Titanic as it sinks beneath you.
