That's a lot of energy. I'm not good at this kind of math.
Would one of our savvy commenters express that in foot-pounds put in the context of ballistics? For example where a round fired from a rifle strikes a target 200 yds downrange with so many foot pounds of energy.

If this asteroid was a projectile fired from a huge honkin' gun, hmm ... we'd be in trouble.

Hmmmm, didn't seem to help much. Obama is still dickin' around in DC and Putin in the Ukraine. ISIL in Iraq and Halfgonastan, what can one saw. Perhaps the damn thing should have been aimed better or been bigger.

I thought it was a high altitude airburst and mostly a bunch of dust and gas with just some small particles hitting the earth.
