Seems to me the end of "real news" was the appearance of Walter Cronkite on the teevy - or maybe Huntley and Brinkley. Since then it's all been show business, and fairly obviously all bullshit. The fact that a half-century later it's an apparent "scandal" that a male model reading a script is "lying" is an embarrassing admission of the Gamma-minus nature of the American IQ.

Uncle Walter was an ardent Leftist. He just hid it well.

You boys were late to the party. In 1963, when I was 18, I watched Cronkite "cover" the Kennedy assassination, and deliver "breaking news" about Oswald's Communist background. Within 24 hours, ol' Walt was sincerely peddling the "vast right-wing conspiracy" slant that quickly became the party line.

Anything and everything he had to say about the Vietnam situation was self-evidently a lie, and the whole fuckin country just lapped it up like ice cream.

Stewart and Williams are peas in a pod. They both peddle Leftist Narrative. They both lie incessantly to support the Democrat party.

Rob is right. The Media has always been hard left. It is just that we suckers had no way to double check their horse hockey until the internet.

America, you, all of you, failed our young Prince Camelot. It's your fault, your culture that disillusioned and twisted and ruined the fragile flower LHO and turned him to the dark side. That Lee was just on a youthful vision quest, his spiritual journey of enlightenment, when he rejected the American culture and took up with the Russians. That it turned out so badly is the fault of America and its reactionary hostility to Russia and communism. It's certainly not Lee's fault, certainly not Russia's, and certainly not the fault of the insanely great idea of Communism, the true goal towards which all moral men strive.
