If we're going to have an emperor, let's at least have one who looks the part.

Today in History, January 16th, 27 BC, Gaius Octavius accepts the title of Augustus and becomes the first Emperor of the Roman Empire. Via Ego is a rat on the sinking ship of being.

Then came Claudius, Nero and a few others. What goes around comes around.

Octavius was at least talented in both - or either - war and peace.

It's like being in Caligula's Rome. A half breed faggot of dubious provenance on the throne and toadying grifters running the place.

Chas, are you talking about then or now?

VW, I'm talking about now. The half-breed faggot is Obama.
I find it ironic that OB has received more comments and press coverage than any other POTUS. All the shortcomings, character defects, faux pas, the big ears, bull dyke wife, golfing through national crises, all of that negative stuff and people are used to it. No outrage, doing anything about it, in six years no more screaming headlines about his latest screw-up. People are all "huh? oh yeah, whatever".

A hundred years ago he would have been impeached and tossed out of office; certainly not re-elected. Two hundred years ago somebody would have up and shot him.

Today's press didn't come to bury Caesar, but to praise him.

And yes, there is a more-than-passing resemblance to Putin.
