Well has Afghanistan earned its title, “Graveyard of Empires.”

Without US air power, garrison troops and large numbers of “civilian contractors” and old-fashioned mercenaries the Kabul puppet regime
would soon be swept away. Afghanistan’s government army is likely to collapse as quickly as Iraq’s did before ISIS. Most of southern Afghanistan would declare for Taliban which, however harsh, is the nation’s only authentic political movement apart from the Tajik and Uzbek Communists in the north. The US garrison in Kabul will continue to make Afghanistan safe for opium, which is the base for heroin.

""Well has Afghanistan earned its title, “Graveyard of Empires.”""

Unless its Ghenghis Khan whom killed millionsand left it depopulated. When I mentioned this fact to some Internet Jihad Warriors who also proudly proclaimed it was a "Graveyard of Empires", they were nearly apoplectic.

When Eric Margolis calls these 'warriors' things like "Bravest Men on Earth" we know we have a Libtard on our hand who knows nothing about these vermin. I strongly suggest that 'Eric' go to Afghanistan and mingle with these 'warriors'.

May even get a 'haircut' for the trouble too.

In my estimate, Afghanistan has been a suck fest. As soon as Obambi was elected, on a platform of SETTING THE FARGING WITHDRAWAL DATE, I turned to my very young son and declared, "we just gave up the war in Afghanistan!" His response was golden. He said, "never mind, dad. When Obama's gone from office, we'll return - and next time we'll bring artillery!"

When a 7 year old knows more @ war than the president, the secdef and congress, it gives you pause.

On a side note - the link to why Americans still feel we're in a recession was also a good one. Same link - on the sidebar. Speaking of suck fests...

The problem is not Afghanistan, it is that we have been fighting the wrong war. Our real enemy is Pakistan, which we should bomb until the ruble bounces. This was demonstrated by Osama bin Laden's residence hard by the Pakistani Military Academy. Further our inability to crush the Taliban is due to their bases in Pakistan.

Instead of cowering and hoping that it won't happen near us we should be fire-bombing Baghdad and other concentrations of Muslim terrorists. Can't find 'em? Enlarge the target area.

The only solution for the Muslim threat is to kill every last one of them, their families, their friends, their neighbors; to lay waste to their crop lands and salt their wells, to destroy their buildings such that no two stones lay atop one another.

"two stones"...

As Barry Fritzgerald said in "The Quiet Man"..."....A beautiful sentiment!".

This ignores the fact that Afghanistan was conquered repeatedly in the past by various forces. And we were doing fine in the country - brilliantly, in fact - until crippled by idiotic Rules of Engagement and treason at home.

Like the girl who moved to another city so she could be a virgin again.
It ain't conquered if after you have thrown everything you have at the place and the people, you leave and six months later everything is back to the way it was before you came.
