"This shellacking goes all the way down to dogcatcher...."

DemThumbsDownPIX.jpg

The Democrats are the ones who ought to be quaking in their boots.
Look at what they had. They had Kay Hagan in North Carolina, $26 million spent on her. All of the free media time the Democrats always get, whatever that ends up being. They had 99% of the media with them, they have Hollywood with them, they have the pop culture with them, and look what happened to them. They lost 70 seats in Congress. And you add it up over the two years -- well, 2010 and 2014, and it is dramatic what they've lost. They've lost governorships. They've lost state legislatures. Twenty-three states now have Republican governors and Republican legislatures. The Democrats have five. The rest are divided or mixed. But, I mean, this shellacking goes all the way down to dogcatcher, and it was a repudiation. It was a rejection, an in-your-face rejection of everything they stand for.

Your Say

I think its less the policy ideas for the Democrats than how they approached these ideas. For six years, the Democrats have pushed their ideas without any regard to the voters, without listening to petitions and complaints, without caring what people thought.

They kept ramming through idea after rule after regulation after policy straight down the teeth of the voters while treating everyone who disagreed as the worst possible sort of human being. Nobody rejected their ideas as being wrong or a mistake oh no, everyone rejected them only because they were hateful racist bigots.

Everyone in American can see what the real problems are in the country, and the Democrats were determined to address every single other possible problem on earth instead. The president could lie about pivoting to unemployment only so long. The governors could ignore street violence only so long. The legislators could try to disarm the public only so long. Eventually, there's a price to be paid.

The Republicans paid that price before this in 2006 for doing the same thing: ignoring the people and throwing money at each other that they took out of the pockets of the voters. If there hadn't been such rage and disgust at the Republicans for doing so, they probably would have been in power sooner.

Gotta start somewhere.

The mention of "dogcatcher" reminds me of a conversation I had with my moonbat sister-in-law recently on the anniversary of the deadly landslide at Oso, Washington, that killed over 40 people.

She wondered aloud why nobody or no agency was being investigated or charged in relation to the event, especially since there is at least arguable evidence that some faulty judgements and lax enforcement of various regulations occurred.

I told her the answer was simple: in the chain of responsibility from local Dogcatcher, to Fire Chief, to Sheriff, to State Representatives and Senators, to Lt. Governor and Governor, to US Reps and Senators, to the VP and President of the United States, there there is probably only one official who is not a Democrat, and not even the Seattle times can figure out how to blame a landslide on the damned Dogcatcher.

Well OBVIOUSL the correct response is to censor/ban anything on Twitter critical, or skeptical, of Rabid "feminism", Amnesty for (those poor unaccompanied minor) illegal aliens, "refugees" from the pit of Ebola, global warming/Carbon "fees", Special "Social" justice rules on campus, and "certain" Political "Scientists" disguised as economists, or Nobel Prize Winning/Rhodes Scholar "winning"/(fill in the blank) nominees for (also fill in the blank).
Punch back, TWICE as hard!

...blame a landslide on the damned Dogcatcher.

Damned, damned, Good! I'm writing that one down.

Rob, this is how it's going to *start* just like every time before.

All of the new toys the crats have stuffed into their overflowing tyranny toolbox will now be utilized, and expanded upon, by the pugs against the votists and the normal people *normal* dragged along with them.

**Normal people that haven't lost touch with reality because of fabricated fears.

Democracy, prison for all.

Patience, ghostsniper.

Rob's right -- it took us about a century to get here (think "Woodrow Wilson"), and it may take a century to get out of the bad spot we're in.

As Rob says, ya gotta start somewhere.

Landslide or no landslide, the half-breed faggot is still the POTUS.

He has at his disposal two mechanisms: Executive Orders and Martial Law. He also has a lot of Homeland security types, think: Brownshirts to enforce all kindsa directives.

If you are like me or the ghost you are cleaning your rifles and putting your boots by the door.

Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?

Hale, licking the hand that slaps me has never been my style. If you thought it started with Wilson you are starting where the game is half over.

What you are witnessing is the natural end result of a system that was flawed from the beginning. To believe it can be repaired, when the very material from which it was wrought is poison, is the height of folly.

Rob may believe he needs to be ruled but he has no authority to demand that for others.

ghost:

And no matter how you slice the cheese they will be replaced by other people that have power.

I'm curious, ghost. You reject the system that governs and controls our country, claiming that it benefits you not at all. Surely there must be some positive aspects of living here in the US. Or would you be just as happy living in Russia or China or Iran? Not dissing you, just trying to get a clear look at your values. I think we share some of the same outlook but I get confused.

Lemme point out something to you chas, from your own words.

"governs and controls our country"
and
"positive aspects of living here"

For reasons I can't imagine you have chosen to link those 2 groups of words when no such link exists. In fact, the opposite exists.

In my 59 years I have not seen even one thing that has been a benefit from this rotten assed gov't. Nothing.

That sentence addresses your 1st group of words.

I enjoy your emails, and you know that if not for the physical distance we wouldn't email but rather sit on the porch and drink adult beverages and yap instead. I do the same thing with my neighbors and other like minded people and you know what? We choose to do this on our own. We don't need elitists to tell us what we should do or who we should congregate with. But there they are, doing just that, every minute of every day.

That, is my response to your 2nd group of words.

Anarchy (the absence of gov't) is way most people live their lives everyday.

Bottom line, I have no use for criminals (calling them politicians doesn't change the fact) no matter what spot on the globe I occupy and I will do my best to avoid them all the time.

ghost: thanks for taking the time to clear up some confusion on my part.

Ghostsniper,

I don't believe in licking the hand that feeds me, either. I don't have much liking for the political status quo, any more than you do. It's just that the best we can realistically hope for is a return to the status quo ante 1900, before our great-grandparents bought into the Progressives' BS.

Would that be a perfect world? No, of course not. But folks back then had a lot more freedom that we do now. And I, for one, think that's worth working toward, and with luck we can get there without plunging the country into civil war.

And yes, I'm reading "Victoria" over at TraditionalRight. It's an intriguing story, but it is in some sense pornographic -- it has about as much to do with the way things are likely to turn out as porno-mags have to do with how most people's love-lives at least seem to work out.

My two cents' worth.
