Your Say

It lightens my soul to know there is still an area of art that eases the hard edges of the world. One that hasn't fallen to the degradation of the Left.

The 18th and 19th centuries did produce some beautiful art. Wait...

Too bad that area isn't in the Vendôme:

Christmas Tree or Sex Toy?

One writer for Politique Magazine had a marvelous rant in French about the whole sordid thing. His diatribe - well worth learning the French language for - ended with the statement we are all going to have to face as the hard choice: Honestly, my friends, in order to defend ourselves, we are going to have to do something other than vote.

It will become necessary to make a distinction:

The Distinction
Elmore Leonard

A time would come within a few years, when Ruben Vega would go to the church in Benson, kneel in the confessional, and say to the priest, “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.
It has been thirty-seven years since my last confession . . . Since then I have fornicated with many women, maybe eight hundred. No, not that many, considering my work. Maybe six hundred only.”

And the priest would say, “Do you mean bad women or good women?”

And Rueben Vega would say, “They are all good, Father.”

He would tell the priest he had stolen, in that time, about twenty thousand head of cattle but only maybe fifteen horses.

The priest would ask him if he had committed murder. Rueben Vega would say no.

“All that stealing you’ve done,” the priest would say, “You’ve never killed anyone?”

And Rueben Vega would say, “Yes, of course, but it was not to commit murder.
You understand the distinction? Not to kill someone to take a life, but only to save my own.”

Mom, it does my heart good to see you come full circle and join the revolt.

Looking at pictures like this (I know, I know VW, I sez "pictures", OK?) Harumph. Looking at this stuff is like the music they play so cows'll give more milk, or for hold music. sure won't incite any more harangues like the Picasso piece did.

That's just it. There's nothing to say one way or the other. Looks like greeting card paintings.
