You'll be canceling your HBO subscription in the next five minutes.

... and I will still have beat you to it. HBO, Beyond the Pale | Power Line There is an HBO program called “True Blood”
that apparently is about vampires–way to be cutting edge, right? In its most recent episode, it featured a Ted Cruz fundraiser at the George W. Bush presidential library. In the clip below, you can see the characters discussing the fact that only “assholes” are going to the Ted Cruz event, while a woman, having dressed for the event, describes herself as a “Republicunt.” The clip concludes with a vampire saying that of all the horrible things he has seen in the last 100 years, the Ted Cruz fundraiser is the worst.

Your Say

Well, in fairness to the conceit of the show, it seems perfectly logical for vampires to identify as "Progressives", inasmuch as they view the human race as cattle.

Watch a few seasons of Six Feet Under if you'd like to see how long ago and how deeply the claws of the liberal crazies have sunk themselves into that network.

As one also observes in The Wire (which is otherwise excellent, especially in the way it validates another observation referenced here in The Top 40, re: Karen Lewis and "the end of the Oligarch bargain"), the supreme irony that has gone apparently unnoticed by the HBO programmers is that those characters spewing the most visceral rage against "Bush", "Cheney", "Wall Street", "homophobes" and other conservative-bashing shibboleths, are ALSO the very characters who exemplify the most deeply flawed, psychologically damaged, spiritually empty stereotypes.

Pity, I've been following the show by picking up the DVD season sets. I think the current season is the final season. Maybe I'll wait for the show to pop up on Netflicks streaming.

It's television, kids. It's for stupid people.

Did you somehow forget that? Has it somehow evaporated from your memory that George Orwell explained all this over 65 years ago? Cable pay-TV exists only to reassure boobs with more money that they're superior to the boobs with less money who watch the networks.

Did you expect something else? Really?

If you're watching the Nutworks you aren't in much better shape. Why would anyone want to see make believe history from a Proggy point of view.

This just tells me who in business really believes in Mitt Romney's analysis of the electorate.

"Okay, let's piss off 53% of the market. We'll get by, but more important, we'll feel good!"
