Gun De-Control

In Chicago, a city of 2.7 million people, fewer than 8,000 people are licensed to own a gun – less than 0.3%.
The city’s gun-homicide rate is about 18 per 100,000. In Vermont, by contrast, where 42% of the population are gun owners, the rate of gun murders in 2010 was 0.3 per 100,000. So Chicago has a gun-homicide rate about 60 times Vermont’s, despite Vermonters being 150 times as likely to own a gun. To put that another way, in Chicago the ratio of the gun-homicide rate to the percentage of citizens who legally own guns is nine thousand times higher than it is in Vermont.

Your Say

I'll assume he means 8,000 people are licensed for conceal carry in Chicongo. In Vermont, no license is required for conceal carry. You own it, you can conceal it.

Unfortunately, the demographics of Vermont are getting a harsh makeover from years of Proggy politics. Vermont has a very bad smack jones. Rutland, Springfield, Brattleboro and nor Burlington are infected with the liberal social disease. The gun crime stats will and are changing.

When the Governor makes drugs the sole item of the State of the State address, it is a rampant problem.

The real cause of Vermont's troubles can be traced to one source: One party government. Fire a cannon loaded with grape, into the State House and you MIGHT hit one or two Republicans. The rest are Progressives, with a couple of Donkeys interspersed.

Federal money keeps the state alive; even with that the unfunded mandates can't be paid.
