Reagan at Normandy

Forty summers have passed since the battle that you fought here.
You were young the day you took these cliffs; some of you were hardly more than boys, with the deepest joys of life before you. Yet, you risked everything here. Why? Why did you do it? What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow we know the answer. It was faith and belief; it was loyalty and love.

Your Say

"... faith and belief; it was loyalty and love."

And there was no big deal about it. The men and women that went to war for us did not think they were sacrificing or grandstanding or anything other than doing the right thing. Just doing what was right.

@ chasmatic "Just doing what was right."

And doing what is right now, is to get off the coach, smash the TV and scream as loud as you can against the monster that has seized power here in the USA. Make your voice heard before you have no voice to hear.

The enemy is in the house and he means to enslave/kill you.

chas - Well said. I was 13 that day. Grew up going to college with them. Then they taught me to fly, and I flew with them for years. They taught me to take it as it comes and deal with it the best you can. It means anything you encounter.
