The Rise of the Campus Brown Shirts

This would all be great fodder for Saturday Night Live, if it still had any spine.
Or a tough conservative or libertarian comedy show, if there were one. But in the final analysis, it’s not all that funny. Something is seriously wrong with our university system — as if we didn’t know. And the fault is less with the students — they are what they are and finally just young people — as with the faculties, especially in the social sciences and what’s left of the humanities.

Your Say

The list of stuff SNL should be doing that's funny is far, far longer than the list of stuff they are actually doing, funny or not. Satire dies if you are only willing to attack one side and defend the other.

I hear NBC has given SNL an ultimatum. If they don't make someone laugh in the next 30 years they will decide whether to give them another 30 years.

The only reason SNL is still in production is because nobody wants to be the villain and cancel it and NBC has nothing better to put in its place.

Why not just cancel NBC?

That stuff is on TV, right? It ain't real is it? My TV has a switch, on-off. We're depending on some gathering of half-assed commies drawing a paycheck to form our thinking (gee, I wish I'da said that) and we expect them to bite the hand that feeds them?
