The president and the enablers

Excuse me, did I say “will take it anyway”? What Schumer actually said was [emphasis mine]: "If [House Republicans] don’t pass immigration reform [by the August recess], the president will have no choice but to act on his own."
it’s long been clear that President Obama considers that the Constitution, with its checks and balances, offers no real constraint to his usurpation of power. Actually, it never really was the Constitution that prevented previous presidents from doing the same thing—it was their own respect for it, plus the checks and balances offered by integrity-driven members of those presidents’ own parties who would pressure them to do the right thing, and/or a press that would call them on their excesses, and/or voters who would reject them if they violated constitutional constraints. Obama doesn’t have to deal with such things, and that emboldens him.

And, there ain't a thing we can do about it short of ... but I'm not going there.

A 230gr fmj bullet pushed by 5.8 gr Win231 has a lot of stopping power.

It always was the honor of the men in office that prevented them from usurping power or abusing it. We have men in office now without honor, and the results are obvious.

Why should Obama be affected by or honor the constitution? The Bible is for Christians, the Torah is for Jews and of course, last but not least, the Koran is for illegitimate wild ape death loving psychopaths.

The Constitution is for Americans and men and women who love and cherish Freedom more than their own lives....and the illegitimate SOB Obama is no more an American citizen than was his whore mongering daddy or their mentor, K. Marx.

Jeepers, people, keep up! I wrote this last August! Wow, I am almost tired of being so far ahead of the curb.

Why the law does not matter to Obama

As I was discussing Obama's totalist ideology this week with a relative, I pointed out that Obama could ask a parallel question of the federal courts that Josef Stalin asked when it was suggested to him that he should treat Russian Catholics better to gain favor with the Pope as the Nazi threat loomed: "The Pope!" Stalin exclaimed. "How many divisions has he got?"

And so with President Obama and federal courts' rulings: they have no means of enforcing their rulings. As any intemperate two-year old knows, you can do anything you want until someone compels you to stop. And so Obama can order whatever he wishes until he is compelled to stop.

The courts lacks the means of such compulsion. That leaves the Congress to rein in the executive. (Please excuse me while I erupt in peals of derisive laughter.) ...

The media will not examine Obama's imperialist manner because they do not want to. They agree with it. The courts are literally unable to enforce their rulings contra this administration; Obama ignores them at will and without consequence. The Republicans are dominated by the Political Class and lack the numbers, influence, collective will and ideological conviction to rein in the administration even if they had the ability to do so, which they don't.

Could someone tell me what Potsie is reading here? Is there some alternate blog he gets that we don't?

And Sensing: we had our shot in November of 2012 to stop Obama. That was it. That was the only way it was going to happen. Romney ran and didn't win by more than the margin of fraud. Game over.

Gerard -- I must have been on the same wavelength as Neo-Neocon this weekend. I started a similar post at Fur's Bull Pen when DH began reading me this piece, so I cross-ref'd it within my post. I didn't link because I already had another essay in mind when I began, but I did cite the title and told people to read it. It's a very good read, "The President and The Enablers." Hope everyone here reads the entire piece.

Write and call your Congress critters. Do not let them think you don't care about this crap. Until they cancel all elections, these pols have to pay attention to what the citizens say. Yeah, I know most LIVs aren't paying attention and don't know crap. But 10% of 300 million is 30 million people. I know there are at least 30 million conservatives in the population. If every one of us sat down and wrote an e-mail to our Congress critters once a week it would get their attention. I know a man who worked in DC for 30 years. He says the Congress critters may not read your letter, but their staffs are keeping a tally of "for" and "against" on all issues. When no one expresses an opinion, they just assume all is ducky.

I give 'em a piece of my mind. Believe you, my Congress critters know who I am and what my opinions are. IRS audits? Bring 'em on. I know how to call Fox News and I've got a paper trail. Like I say, until elections are officially cancelled, citizens have a duty to tell their employees (yes, they're supposed to work for us) what they want.
