Your Say

Where did you get that delightful juxtadepiction, Gerard? Delightful - and the caption, of course.

And if she can outlive her wretched brood, she will truly have done it.

(Well, please outlive Charles at least.)

If you look closely, he was pulling her forward in the original picture, and now, she's an anchor on him...
Just kidding.
Maybe she's just saying "I want so many more years of this...don't go anywhere".
Either way, I would wish a long live of love for all of us, not just the "live in perfect harmony, have a Coke" kind, but that which is captured in this picture.
Growth together, through good times and bad.

I suppose having your every whim and fancy catered to and never having a practical worry has little to do with it.

Posted by: Lord Fauntleroy at May 29, 2014 3:23 PM

Yes, Lord Fauntleroy, but by all accounts, they've actually loved one another, and care for one another, and that comes across in these two photos.
Even if "every whim and fancy" is catered to, you still have to live with one another when all is said and done.
Good for them.
PS- Prince Charles is a douchebag.

It can't be said too often that people who think wealth and privilege make for a happy life have never had to suffer either state.

Gimme the chance, and I'll prove that old canard wrong. I've been poor, it ain't fun.

"We" are not amused.

Hmm, so if appearance somehow proves true love and devotion, explain this: http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2009/4/27/1240866777992/Bill-Clinton-and-Hillary--001.jpg

Her eyes say it all.

Lucky is a man who gets that sort of look.

Posted by: ThomasD at May 29, 2014 6:12 PM

You mean Bill is lucky he has Hitlery looking at him that way? I suppose she means "it's alright to 'not have sex with that woman' Bill.

Interesting the kind of mileage one can get out of a few photos. Here's a couple in love, here's the same couple still in love years later. That's what I see and serves as example for me and my wife.

For those of you who aren't as fortunate: A bitter heart will not reveal the Spring that love remembers.

Even after 31 years of on the job experience I still don't get it. It's not from lack of trying. But I do know that the secret to a long and happy marriage is a detached garage.

Posted by: ghostsniper at May 30, 2014 6:32 AM

I suspect this has to do more with the mores of their time. You know things like responsibility-commitment-honor. Probably education too.

Is she wearing the same brooch?

Might be. Just might be.

Never found anything quaint or cute about royalty. Parasites endowed with riches, a history of tyranny, larceny, inbreeding, and totally useless. But on the human side, it is nice to see people together for life as me and my bride of 44 years are. Remember we fought a war to be rid of their likes.

Posted by: tripletap at May 30, 2014 9:18 AM

Elizabeth was the best of them since Victoria, who was also well loved by her man. What a coincidence. She never bent a knee to the anti-Americanism of her day. I think she knew what she was. Few can say that, and fewer still who would be King. I'd rather be ruled by Elizabeth than the last 100,000 graduates of Harvard and Yale.

Hillary's look is more of that lit-up emotional high of a killer after just having done something incredibly barbaric and unhuman. Brrr-r-r-r!

There's good royalty and there's bad royalty. The throne in Britain is mostly an icon of traditions and national identity. We have seen more decency come from the English monarchs than from many civil governments.

I won't mention a comparison to the half-breed faggot of dubious provenance we have at the head of our nation. Well, actually I guess I did mention it.

"Parasites endowed with riches, a history of tyranny, larceny, inbreeding, and totally useless....Remember we fought a war to be rid of their likes."

Looking at the current government, I assume we lost.

To all you blindly sychophantic Anglophiles in this column who may happen to call themselves "conservative" you do realize QE and her "loving" husband are stark raving moonbats that support homo marriage, gun control, Gorebull warming, UN control of your property and a whole host of other moonbat madness issues. Still bowing down now?

What can I say but that we don't always go around making everyone at every moment in every instance in every subject the people who have to pass some obsessive/compulsives political purity test.

Posted by: vanderleun at May 30, 2014 9:07 PM

I thought it was sort of a love story. As far as their politics, they can shave their ass and walk backwards for all I care. Besides, they don't belong to us Yanks. We get to choose our despots.

Posted by: chasmatic at May 30, 2014 10:22 PM

No, I didn't know that, Sane Person, but I never went to the trouble to find out. Very worthy information it is. Now that I know I'm going to redouble my task of finding an English conservative.
