"If you killed every racist in the country right now, America would be all white again."

Sure, we say bad things about a race sometimes when we’re drinking a beer in a bar.
Nobody says it more than nonwhites. Hearing an old black guy talk about Jews would make Hitler blush. If an old Korean found out that his daughter was dating a black man, he’d spontaneously combust. If you killed every racist in the country right now, America would be all white again. And you’d be wrong to kill all those minorities. They don’t really mean it. People are too selfish to genuinely be racist.
The Myth of Prejudice

Your Say

If you like everybody you meet, you are not meeting enough people.

I stay out of bars and I avoid crowds.

FWIW I'm White, and there's a whole lot of White folks I don't like. I think, maybe it's assholes I don't like and they come in every race, color and creed. And what do they deserve? A good hard punch in the face.

It's not that I think I'm better than others, I just wish they would at least measure up to a minimum standard of civility, decency, and personal responsibility.

Any non-white tempted to blubber about the mean old racists ought to study a little history, and learn what white people are willing to do to each other. The War Between the States, or the Great War would be good places to start. It might provide them with a little perspective. Not in every case, if all the money spent on urban schools in the last five or six decades is anything to go by.

The problem I think is the misuse of the word "racist", we have allowed it to be co-opted and turned into a bludgeon rather than a means of communicating an idea.

Pointing out and recognizing differences in races isn't racism, assuming some inherent moral superiority is. Because one may be intellectually or physically superior to another doesn't mean one may be morally superior to them, regardless of race.

Chasmatic and B Moe, well said.
Gavin McInnes, excerpted here by Gerard, is an illogical, self-contradicting decent fellow.
"There are some nutbars out there who don't like people just because they're black, but there are so many others who lavish preferential treatment on blacks, the sum of the game is zero sum." This is a startlingly stupid statement. First through last convince the tortured black (by racist white) and the tortured white (by racist black) that their (net) tortures equal zero! Mathematizing and dehumanizing human suffering is an asiten [1/9 more asinine than asinine] way of looking at the real world.
"If you killed every racist in the country right now , America would be all white again." This written after McInnes has praised black women and men who are dedicated to hard work and intellectual development. So, if you killed all the racists you'd be left with whites and blacks and freckled and all colors and stripes possible -- the simply and complexly stupid, intelligent, decent and indecent non-racists.

The 'isms' and 'ists' exist. The aggressive 'ists' should receive Chasmatic's facial massage technique.

I read that article a day or 2 ago and had problems understanding it too. Maybe he was drunk.

Regardless, I dislike everyone as a default, and only after someone proves theirself worthy of being known do I undislike them. But I remain cautious.

Yesterday I was talking with a Black guy that I have known for decades, worked with him, broke bread with him at my house or his. A friend.

We saw each other as the unwilling last of our kind, the live and let live White guy and Black guy.

There are some non-bigoted minorities, but they are reallly a minority. I know a few guys like that, they're just Americans, whether from China or wherever their ancestors might have been.

Bigotry and racial unrest are stirred up by the pols and media for their own ends. I tend to find minorities like dogs (no insult intended), one on one no problem but in a pack not so nice.
