If you are a member of the Cult of Modern Liberalism,

it’s feeling like 1972 in San Francisco.
The Summer of Love is a distant memory and all the promise of that time amounted to nothing. More broadly speaking, this last fevered push by the Left never had much going for it. Health care is a math problem, not a moral problem. The rest of their agenda amounts to nothing more than silly fads cooked up by college professors with too much time on their hands. Otherwise, it has been a bunch of true believers looking for a cause. The other side of the coin is the Right has nothing to offer at the moment.

Your Say

There's a whole lot of the Right that have something to offer: a good hard punch in the face to "... college professors with too much time on their hands ... and ... a bunch of true believers looking for a cause."

The Left is gonna keep doing stupid things and taking control of education, health care, infrastructure, a lot of things. It has to start somewhere, might as well be in our immediate neighborhoods, find some assholes and lay into them. We need to say NO very loudly and make sure they are paying attention with repeated punches in the kisser. I'd say hit 'em with a two by four but I don't want to waste lumber. Oh, maybe a smack on the snout with a rolled up newspaper. Nah, nothing beats the knuckles-on approach.

We won't get the hay in the barn by standing around talking and we won't get rid of assholes by sitting in front of a computer blogging to all our friends.

The right has nothing to offer only if you haven't been paying attention, or paying attention only to the establishment 'country club' republicans. The tea party and others were the first and have been the only ones to meaningfully address the main issues which are the over reach of the federal government, our post-constitutional present state of semi-lawlessness, and the massive debt. What is this guy smoking?

It's always been amazing to me what men can destroy with a billion lies and ignorance of a single truth.

There is a way which seems right to a man, (humanists) but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 12:15

It is ignorant to expect Republicans to change things for the better. We have been drowning in government for so long, who would know the way up to for air? I do not know one Republican who does, or at least that admits to it. In a democracy suffering from universal suffrage, that would be electoral suicide. Worse still than not being able to discuss the roots of our problems, we can no longer even imagine what they are.

Already Republicans are discussing fixing Obamacare. That is the proper role of the "opposition" party under universal suffrage, the plumbers and janitors necessary to make the Utopian dreams of others flush, and clean up the mess when they do not.
