Afghanistan: “Withdrawal in contact”
As American combat forces dwindle— assuming they do not have to pull up stakes peremptorily if no agreement with Afghans is reached — the problems of “withdrawal in contact” will re-emerge. Our military ought to be used to retreat by now. Defeat however you slice the cheese.
