According to David Sax, the most successful food trends
Americans wanted cupcakes ten years ago, he told Brickman, because they sought childhood comforts after the trauma of 9/11; Americans wanted fondue in the sixties because they aspired to cosmopolitanism. Artisanal toast, one might posit, represents our intensifying obsession with and fetishization of food. Every meal is special and important, every dish should be elevated, revered, and broadcast—even something as pedestrian as toast. The New Yorker

I ditched cable and cooking shows. Now it's whatever. With brownies if you have all behaved.

It is better to love a woman and be disappointed than to eat your soup alone.
Take it from a fool who knows. I've done both.

Yes, I'd like that civet "processed", "hand" roasted, #4 grind, coffee made with imported Australian glacial melt. Without "gas" please.
I've always wondered how the rest of the world feels about me flushing my toilets, washing my car and underpants, with Swiss Nestle Poland Spring water.
That's what comes out of the tap 'round here.
Lobster? Quahogs? That's hand gathered food for us poor folk. If you want to "pay extra" for the "experience", without the actual "experience", I can gladly help you out.

Fructose, soy, sugar, and wheat.
Blobs, and gobs, of fat strewn meat.
Waddling, coddling, looking for fun.
Your obese daughter, your blubbery son.
Work em, WORK EM!, sweat it all out.
Make em scream, make em hurt, make pout.
Dissolve the poison, shame the need.
Heat the iron and make it bleed.
Food is the journey, not the goal.
Eat it quick, and eat it whole.
Cook it fast, or eat it raw.
Never eat at the local mall.
Pain is the pleasure we all desire.
Ever reaching higher, and higher.
Skip the fads, styles, and tones.
Skin and muscle, guts and bones.
You are what you eat....then you die.
