"The Bush years cured me of any hope for the American Right. "

The problem is they are all like Jonah Goldberg.
They make wonderful arguments in defense of civilization. They are often very good at warding off the zombie attacks from the Cult of Modern Liberalism. Their defect is they think the Left is just a bunch of people mistaken on matters of fact or reason. That’s not the case. The Left is a cult of lunatics no different from Islam. -- The Fascist States of America

"Nixon was forced out because he contemplated doing that which we associated with authoritarianism. Today, the mass media celebrates a President using the IRS as a political weapon, conducting political prosecutions, spying on the citizens and refusing to enforce the people’s laws."

I keep saying Obama is the Manchurian candidate. He wasn't elected he was placed there by powers that remain hidden. His history is a mystery that our media doesn't care about and in fact will call you names if you even bring it up. He flaunts the law and the constitution and the media spends all it's time invetigating bridgegate. He is a post turtle, a mystery, a phony. All of this should scare you but what should scare you more is the total lack of interest by our free press and the complete failure of the right to do anything about it.

Don't be so sure the Jonah's of the world don't understand this. They know they're never going to get anywhere with the hardcore; it's the mushy middle they (we) are after, and that middle will tune you out if you tell the unvarnished truth, so the Jonah's of the world persuade in the most effective manner that is realistically possible.

That's an excellent point. A liberal is instinctively repelled by pure truth, so your only hope is to create conditions through which they may accidentally stumble upon a piece of it, and then experience cognitive dissonance.

Nixon was forced out because he was a Republican, the totalitarian thing was an excuse. A perfect illustration of this principle was George Bush the elder's "no new taxes" pledge. The left LOVED taxes, their politicians voted for and passed new taxes, they wanted new taxes. But when President Bush signed that bill into law, they went nuts screaming "read my lips! read my lips! read my lips!"

Not because they thought he was horrible for breaking his pledge, not because they were mad at the new taxes but simply because they knew it was a useful lever to topple him for the sin of being Republican.

What the Jonah's of the world understand in unimportant when they do not understand that they themselves are only the right-wing flank of the left. All they are doing is keeping that train in some semblance of repair.
