Your Say

This is partly why I'm single. I won't put up with that crap.

Nor I. When the "rules" only benefit one of the players, I steer clear of the game.

Its a joke. Easy there fellas.

It is better to love a woman and be disappointed than to eat your soup alone. I've done both in quest of that two square inch piece of real estate women hold title to.

If constant humiliation is the asking price for that small piece of real estate, and I've seen too many women who insist that their title to it gives them that right, then I shall continue to dine alone. Guys, if you think it's worth it, good on ya. I don't. Never have.

Years ago, a newspaper ad was brought to my attention that read something like this:

"Nearly brand new Harley Davidson soft-tale for sale. Evidently my wife's 'have it your way' didn't mean exactly what I thought it did."

waltj: If those are the circumstances under which you meet and mate with women, I don't blame you.
The rest of that "I've done both" quip is that neither option was a winner. Fortunately it's not an either/or dynamic. Being a doormat or being a taker are losing positions for either gender.

I used to be that way, three marriages of varying degrees of success but ultimately no permanence. I stopped settling for less, and I offered the best I had to any gal interested. I found a woman that had much to offer and I was able to match it so we both brought value to the relationship. It is win-win for over fourteen years now.

pbird: you got it. Rule 62: don't take yourself too damn seriously.

Sure its a joke, and what makes it funny is that its based on the truth. Women do grow out of this, eventually though.
