Winter Surfing in New England

a_england-gear-patrol-slide-17.jpg

It’s not snowing yet, but the next few hours should bring more than six inches.
Yesterday’s storm left over a foot on the ground, the top layer an icy crust from the wet ocean air. At 29 degrees it’s by no means a warm day, though not bad for this Polar Vortex winter. Dressed in a down jacket, a few base layers and trusty Bean boots, I’m optimistic I’ll be comfortable outside all day, but then, I’m not diving into hypothermia-inducing water. - - Photo Essay: - Gear Patrol

Your Say

When it's really cold I don't trust my trusty "Bean" boots, only Cabela's will do.

"Polar Vortex"...ecofacism is so tiring. For me, it was Sorels that kept the feet warm and dry back in the old stomping grounds.

Excuse me, that should read "ecofascism"

GS, Cabela's? (felt liner?)
What's WRONG with you?
ANY good "preppy" (northern at least)familiar with "brand names" that reflect a good value investment, even WITH a quickly recognized logo, or other "tell" amongst the enlightened, (unlike bwa-ha-ha priced t shirts) knows the name Sorel, eh?.

Cabela's? No-no-no. For shlepping around the snowy New England birch woods, it must LL Bean or you're a Flatlander. And don't forget the moleskins and green check shirt.
