Sales of True Detective’s ‘Big Hug Mug’ Are Through the Roof

abighugmug.jpg

This specimen in question, emblazoned with the words "Big Hug Mug" in descending rows of bubble letters, ended up going for $83
after a fierce back-and-forth totaling 41 bids. But there are a lot more Big Hug Mugs out there, it turns out. Another sold on February 10 for $95, and another for $85 the day before that. Average auction prices seem to be closing between $76 and $85. - - Grub Street New York

Your Say

What is a True Detective Big Hug mug and why would you spend more than $2 on one?

My guess is it's a copy of one that spent a lot of time in frame, very prominently, in HBO's heart-warming, life-affirming tale for the entire family. Click on the link, it will explain the whole thing.

Personally, I wouldn't hit a dog in the ass with one of those.
