I don't know what surprises folks more, the audacity of the move or its success.

I bet a lot of people secretly wish that our pansy was half the man Putin is. Right or wrong not the issue. Strength, victory, no doubt about it, Putin is with his country, not against it like the post turtle.

Hissy fit, stamp feet, glower, OK, let's go golfing. Make sure his personal trainers bring enough KY jelly.

Ukrainians should jump in their tanks and ride like hell for Volgograd. They should do it yesterday. It would surprise Putin, and make him look like a fool.

Military prowess is a thing of the past, I guess. If they don't stand up now, they deserve what they get.

It'll probably end up as a Russian domestic quarrel. They need access to the Med so cost is no object. US and others will be told "fuck off, mind yer own business" and the stakes to get in the game will be prohibitive. The mid Easters are like jackals, they'll wait patiently until the big cats are done feeding and scarf up the entrails, shrug, better than nothing for them. Putin's ass is on the line, whole world watching, so he will overkill and gain victory. After he'll say "yeah? Whaddaya gonna do about it, uh punk?" Look for Israel to make some progress with this distraction. A couple hits or psyber attacks while nobody's looking. Look for our pussy to go golfing.

You gotta be kidding me ... "officers and contractors"? Anytime a website plays the "contractor" card, you KNOW it is being played by someone other than that particular website. Putin has his own Blackwater ... gimme a break!

Obama is what he is. This isn't Hungary, or even Czechoslovakia, and we did nothing. The Ukraine is not a country, never has been. The language is so useless that many pro-Western ethnic Ukrainians don't speak it. Ukrainians themselves don't know what they are, except corrupt, and there is not even a majority opinion on what they are supposed to be. The only thing that has kept Putin from grabbing it is that it is has so many liabilities. This is all about the port.

It isn't over yet. After Russian troops "stabilize" the country the intelligence people will identify all of the protestors and their supporters for "disappearing". So on a year or two on CNN one of the pretty face script readers will be "interviewing" widows and mothers from the Ukraine who have no idea what happened to sons, husbands and fathers. Somewhere in the vast forests heavy equipment will dig large holes for the bodies and these men will be executed bot as punishment for the crime of wanting freedom and as a lesson to anyne else who wants freedom. THEN it will be over.
