"It's Probably Nothing"

After Annexing Crimea, Russian Troops Are Piling Up By The East Ukraine Border

Your Say

I guess it depends on whether the Russians think the Ukrainians will fight or not.

Huh! I was ready to bet that Moldova was next.

You cannot imagine how little I care about what happens to Ukraine. They and the Russians may kill, cook, and each other for all that it concerns me.

Must be time for prezzy to play some golf.

That's what the rat-bastard Usurper thinks. He also thinks that it's finally time for a comeuppance for the depraved and hypocritical Americans, who while hiding behind all their airy-fairy talk of Constitution and Blessings of Liberty and exceptionalism, were just as ruthless and pitiless as any other enslaving bandit horde.

He'll go golfing and make speeches denouncing the evil racist obstructionist Republicans, who are preventing the Most Reasonable Man in the room from putting things to rights. While Vlad this time makes Russian satrapies of all of Europe.

Really, which Western European nation will fight back, when all of them know the dissolute Americans have retreated to beyond the ocean and into their navel-gazing of Beyonce and Honey-Boo-Boo?

Fortune favors the bold. Vlad knows it. Think guys, think. It can be all over in two years. A swift march to Kiev, and the Ukraine will fall. The rat-bastard will make an empty speech, and Poland, staring into the abyss, will sue for peace. Cut off the gas to Germany and France and the Czechs next winter, and they too will sue. The rat-bastard will sadly say that global warming and worker safety and the Rethuglicans prevent him from shipping American gas to the Continent, and why anger the Russian bear. And with his utter disdain for all things British, the tired old Queen and her quisling son will kneel for the first time in a thousand years.

And America, after thirteen years of war against a shadow enemy, its treasuries looted, its swords dulled and legions exhausted, its officers emasculated and the soldiers now "diversified", quailing at the thought of a real hot war, distracted by the interminable 4-day cycle of clown show re-election spectacles, will just shrug and accept this New World Order.

America once again will stand alone. Only this time, the Arsenal of Democracy will be empty. The whole world now knows that the Americans, having willingly chosen the rat-bastard Usurper as their preferred means of decline, in their fecklessness cannot be counted on for any succor or leadership.

They say I ought not to be pessimistic. But if there is principled leadership and conviction and willing determination to counter this bleak vision, it has not made itself known to us. All those who proclaim their willingness to lead, to mine eyes seem a pack of howling jackals willing only to feed upon a corpse.

Just one question: who are the good guys in Ukraine? If we are going to get involved, I'd like for us to be on the right side. Are we going to do as we did in Kosovo and bomb the Christians for the sake of the Muslims?

I suppose we could say that we are opposing the Russians because they are supporting Yanuckovich who is a bad guy. So are we supporting Timoshenko who is probably just as corrupt as Yanuckovich?

Sure, the protesters, the people wanting to oust corruption from government, I'd support them. I'd import them and let them protest in front of the White House for a few days, rumble with the uniformed bully-boys of D.C.

Russia is run by a mafia-like oligarchy, and Putin is a thug. But he's their thug. I'm not so sure we can say the same thing about the thug that is in charge of our country at the moment.

Russian patriots are blood-and-soil patriots. Crimeans are Russians. I have also heard that Russia has an agreement with Ukraine that allows 25,000 military personnel to be stationed on the peninsula for the purposes of protecting Russian shipping. I'm not sure they have violated that treaty yet.

Why, after we are constantly lied to by the media about almost everything, are we supposed to believe this? Because Putin has been denounced by our oligarchs? Because an ignorant, fascist twit named Clinton compared him to Hitler? Clinton, inventor of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy? Or maybe because it reminds John Kerry of Nixon ordering him into Cambodia in Christmas of '68? Or because the idiots like John McCain with (R) after their names say "we are all Ukrainians"?

Sorry, I'm at least a quart low on gullibility these days.
