Er, that's some strange brew, Gerard. Nurse, prepare the white room. This guy is singing tales of brave Ulysses or something like that. I can't hear so good since my ears melted.
OH yeah, I mighta lost a few seasons back in the day but it's all there, in deep storage. Really, man. Er, now, where was I? Oh ... yeah ...

Wow, very nice.
Appears to be some sort of varigated, ruffled Hibiscus.

Love the comments.
I guess a sniper would have to notice everything.

Even a sniper is prone to error Grace. Tearing my eyes off that burning spectacle in the center I see the background vegetation and it has caused me to reassess. I believe these firey works of natures art are Glads, short for Gladiola's.
In 1971 I was roaring down McGregor Blvd in my 1966 Mustang convertible with it's 289 hi-po engine and giant tires on the ass end and Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" blowing through the Jensen Triaxles. I came up fast on a blue hair with nothing better to do than get on my last nerve so I swooped them doing about 80 mph. I quickly turned back in front of them and lost it. Completely.
The car fishtailed hard and one of the back tires left the rim and sudenly I was in the opposite lane with cars coming toward me. I went off road which at the time was flanked on both sides by hundred acre Glad's fields. I was halfway across that field by the time the car stopped, and Ozzy was still wailin'.
The steering wheel was broken in 2 places from pushing the brake peddle so hard, and the entire front end was destroyed. I got used to hitch hiking over the next 4 months as my mechanically oriented dad taught me how to build a car. It's now been over 30 years and half a million miles since my last vehicle accident.

Back in the seventies I read every National Lampoon cover to cover. One of my favorites was the tales of Bernie X. He's back!. Ruffled Hibiscus, haw!

Ruffled Hibiscuses are pretty common in Florida, but I prefer the regular style myself.
See here a stunning example:

Right click on the subject picture, then save as, then read the file name. I worked at a glads farm on Burnt Store Rd north of Cape Coral the summer of 1968, I know glads.
