Be True to Your School

I’ll say it again: These Tea Party groups made the mistake of wanting to participate in the process of legitimization in the first place.
Had they NOT applied for tax-exempt/charity status, this wouldn’t have happened to them. And had they been true to their principles, they would not have applied to join the same club they insist they want to burn down. - - Five Feet of Fury

Your Say

Interesting thought.

As is often the case, Kathy Shaidle's dead right on this one.

It's not unlike the asymmetrical warfare going on between men and women. Men for the last several decades have been (like the Tea Party) hampered by their basic approval-seeking nature and behavior.

"I demand you change - and please keep telling me I'm OK!"

Perhaps joining a club that would have one as a member is silly, but subverting the process from the inside is what the Donks have done. Nothing succeeds like success.

The 501(C) status (or whatever the designation is) allows those organizations to keep their donor lists secret. The commie-liberals want those lists exposed so they can lean on them.

I have believed this for a long time. I know a woman in Maryland who decided not to register for any status with the IRS, and she only paid about a hundred in taxes. It wasn't worth it to her to expose herself. If we ever get around to thinking outside the box we might stand a chance. Problem is, we are always playing victim. We need to be on offense. Quit playing by the rules they impose upon us and just do the heavy work.

I say the same, Jewel. We play on their field. It is time for our own. Let them catch up. We are the workers, as it is.

The various Tea Party groups are following the same curve of organization — common interests — leadership — control that any other political group follows. Compromise and concession occur when negotiation on any issue takes place. Exceptions will be made, deals will be struck, emotions will get in the way of logic, bad judgment will be exercised. In short, the human condition prevails. Any shortcomings will be magnified going up the hierarchy.

Political conflicts are merely surface manifestations. If conflicts arise you may be sure that certain powers intend to keep the conflicts under operation since they hope to profit from the situation. To concern yourself with surface political conflicts is to make the mistake of the bull in the ring, you are charging the cloth. That is what politics is for, to teach you the cloth. Just as the bullfighter teaches the bull, teaches him to follow, obey the cloth. W. S. Burroughs

Well yes and no! Yes the tea party could have and arguably should have shunned the tax exempt route and simply lobbied and demonstrated. BUT the minefiled of political free expression is full of laws and regulations that seem designed to give opponents a reason to call the FBI out to get you more then they seem to be designed to keep elections pure. Ask D'Souza if he thought he was breaking a law when he gave his own money to a friend to be used for his 1st amendment political expression? The game is rigged. If you are not a "approved" political group then you ARE an unapproved political group and you WILL be punished. If you want to practice your 1st amendment right to political speech with more then one person then there are rules, more rules then you ever thought there would be or ahould be. You MUST obey or you wilgo to jail and part of that "obeying" is to apply for permission from the government to ask for and accept money or any form of assistance in your endeavor. To argue that jumping any of these hurdles placed in your path somehow makes you look just like "them" is naive and misses the mark.

This "we're too good to take part in this" attitude is exactly why we are in the position we're in. We need to storm the gates and use whatever weapons are at hand. Use their own weapons against them. That's what they did to us.

For crying out loud, they're using the friggin' IRS to suppress the opposition. This is okay? We're the ones that are at fault? I, for one, have had enough.

How on earth is being a tax exempt organization selling out? I get that it exposes you to corrupt government abuse of power, but merely existing publicly does that.

That Tea Party broad, she had it coming, the way she dressed...
