WW II was not fought on our continent because the enemy simply didn't have the ability to bring the war to us in any meaningful way. WW III WILL be fought on this continent and the millions and tens of millions of civilain deaths will be your family and friends and their family and friends. The only way to prevent WW III is to deal with hot spots and tyrants quickly and "over there". Once it gets out of hand and once it gets "over here" it will be too late.

It's not a very long train yet, but there are a whole bunch of cars being jostled in the yard by hard-working switch engines.

Before Russia controlled the Crimea there were few if any ethnic Russians there. Russia moved them all out and sent them to gulags and remote cities where they starved to death. Russia killed 50-100 million people in the last 100 years. They didn't attack us they attacked their nieghbors. But most of this happened when your nieghbors were a few days to a few weeks march away. Today you can get anywhere on earth in less the 24 hours we are all nieghbors. Your confidence that Russia won't harm us is based on the simple fact that since WW II ended we went to great effort to dissuade Russia and other nations from harming us. When we reduce those efforts history shows that the result will be somene who wants what we have will try to take it from us. As I said WW III will be fought in America and almost every country in the world. This is not the time to let down our guard. I do not want another war I want us to remain strong and thus prevent war. I have not been in favor of any war since WW II and I have been around all that time and even spent 20 years in the military during the entire Vietnam war. I do NOT want war, that's why we must always be so prepared for war that no enemy would ever consider it.
