And the Oscar Goes to No One

The rich American culture of the last century was primarily a middlebrow culture of the people.
The Post-American culture is a narrow elitist slice of stinky cheese at the top and a garbage can at the bottom. The elites get politically correct movies that no one else watches and the rest of the country gets movies that emphasize special effects over dialogue so that they can play just as well in Beijing or Moscow as in Kansas. - - Greenfield @ Truth Revolt

Perfect description of the state of (un)American culture.

So What do We Do About It?

Nothing to be done, really.

Gerard's generation pretty much saw to that. We're not going back to 1959; to "Omnibus"; to anything like that.

It was too earnest. No one can abide that now.

How many here were introduced to Wagner by way of "What's Opera, Doc?"

"Kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit...."

"Oh Bwunhilda, you're so wuvewy...
Yes I know it; I can't help it...."

Six years back I had no intentions of being a stay-at-home mama when I'd
my child. One-way or another, somebody needs to take care of the
fix-up. The landscaped pathway includes a pretty waterfall feature.
