"Abundance is abnormal"

Conspicuous, wasteful consumption is abnormal. Food fads and bizarre diets are abnormal.
Normal is scarce calories. Normal is spirited competition to get those calories. There is one bright spot. Low-calorie, low-fat, nutrition-free food, an insane notion to those with long memories, may be this year's worst marketing idea. We'll know sanity has been restored when butchers don't dare to trim the fat off meat. ol remus and the woodpile report

You know, I've always liked to share a house with women with a bit of meat on their bones.
The savings on heat/fashion maintenance are readily apparent.
