Wedding Day for the Hopes

In what would become one of Hollywood’s longest lasting unions,
Bob Hope and Dolores Reade wed on this day in 1934, just a year after Hope had divorced his first wife, Grace Troxell. Hope and Reade’s marriage endured almost 70 years until Hope’s death in 2003 at the age of 100. Dolores passed away in 2011 when she was 102. This Day in History: February 19th

Your Say

I always hoped that they would make a big-budget bio-pic about Bob Hope with Kelsey Grammer, but it doesn't look that's gonna happen.

Admittedly apocryphal story: it's 2003, Bob's time is at hand, and Dolores asks him where he would like to be buried. From his deathbed, Bob replies, "Surprise me". A comedian to the end.

Personally, I always thought Bob Hope was an asshole.

It's the hat.

@Skorpion, agreed, right up there with George Burns. Both way over rated, and under skilled.

@Ghostsniper: Agree about George Burns. Both these guys had a surfeit of conceit, and a dearth of talent.

You guys probably think David Letterman is the soul of sophistication.

What's to celebrate? That Delores kept him around? He screwed around on her like it was his job.
