The headlines are grim,

... the pictures from Syria, Venezuela and Ukraine are blood-chilling,
executions and demonstrations are mounting in Iran, and Obama doesn’t know what to do about anything. So he doesn’t do anything; he and his strategists just dither. And yet… And yet, our enemies may be on the verge of losing. Big time. - - Ledeen, What If We Were Winning But Nobody Noticed?

Your Say

We knew what President Obama would be like with foreign policy when Russia invaded Georgia. He called for everyone to get along and demonstrated he knew nothing about what was happening, but would tend to side with the bad guys enough to call defending yourself morally equivalent to invasion.

Noted: The Ukrainian Army refused to involve itself in 'internal political disputes'...
following which, the president fled the capital.
Luvly.

I consider myself politically ignorant (which has never bothered me, I talk faster than I think too) but it seems to me now is a good time to implement an isolationist strategy. Step back and let the miserable bastards have at each other.

Besides, the way things are going we will need all the troops we have to quell any unrest here at home. And it is my naïve hope that enough military people will be on our side when putsch comes to shove.

With regard to the putsch: I too believed that there might be sufficient patriots to retake the government. Given the unknown degree to which the enemies from within have been able to ensconce themselves, I no longer do. This is not to say that I question the patriotism of the soldiers, or even, majority of the officers. It is, rather, with the upper echelon. You know you're living in interesting times when you start to seriously question such scenarios.

Non intervention may be the best policy for the U.S right now. We have a feckless president who commands no respect in the international community. His meanderings in world affairs thus far has been awkward at best, disastrous at worst. Any more mis-steps by this poseur may invite further aggression by our enemies and perhaps they might even try testing our narcissist in chief. You can't hide behind a teleprompter when the rockets start firing.

Richard: I too sense futility. The top brass that might stand up for the Constitution have been purged one way or another; expect the Nuremburg Defense from those left in place.

tripletap: +1 to that.

Note to Michael Ledeen:

We don't "Win" unless we take advantage of our enemies' "losses."

We're doing no such thing, so we're "losing" right along with our sworn enemies.
