Clown Extinction: An In-depth Look
Not unlike the Mexican wolf or Wyoming toad, clowns find themselves increasingly alone, partly because they’re are almost deliberately terrifying, and partly because this has never been an acceptable career path in the first place.

Mostly because clowns aren't funny. I've always had a hunch that clowning was actually some odd dress-up fetish. I bet they get off on wearing those humiliating costumes. Just a hunch

Unfortunately the cause of this is most clowns finding that politics pays far better than the circus or kid's birthday parties.
