Whatever happened to Obama's screwing-in-lightbulb plan of 2008?

December 7, 2008: "Today, I am announcing a few key parts of my plan.

First, we will launch a massive effort to make public buildings more energy-efficient. Our government now pays the highest energy bill in the world. We need to change that. We need to upgrade our federal buildings by replacing old heating systems and installing efficient light bulbs. That won’t just save you, the American taxpayer, billions of dollars each year. It will put people back to work." -- Barack Obama Youtube address, 12/7/08 Steve Sailer: iSteve

Your Say

I think he also challenged his cabinet to cut 100 million in 2009, and I don't recall hearing if they managed to do that.

He is pretty much all talk, he relies on those around him to actually take it upon themselves to do something.

Heh yeah he made lots of promises of cuts and audits and so on. None of them remotely came true, not even a single one.

Every promise he makes to lower spending is a fat lie, and he does the opposite. Every promise to increase spending he's earnestly in favor of and will do if at all possible.

How many government workers does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Just.shut.the.fuck.up.
It didn't save me a red goddamn cent, and he knew it when he said it. In fact, it cost me even more.
Please, don't do me any favors - I reject them outright.

For many years I tried to help folks of this ethnic persuasion in lower level executive positions develop basic management and control skills. Conclusion after years of trying: It can't be done. Yeah, I know, there are exceptions. I just never came across any.
