The Mania

Fran and Dan Keller freed: Two of the last victims of satanic ritual abuse panic. With coaxing from her mother and her therapist, Donna David-Campbell, whom Christy had been seeing to deal with acting-out issues,
an incident of spanking turned into something much worse—Dan Keller, the little girl said, had defecated on her head and raped her with a pen. From there, the stories Christy told David-Campbell became wilder: The Kellers “had everyone take off their clothes and had a parrot that pecked them in the pee-pee,” they made her smoke a cigarette, they “came to her house with a chainsaw and cut her dog Buffy in the vagina until it bled.” David-Campbell concluded not that Christy was an imaginative child having trouble with her parents’ divorce, but that she was the victim of ritual abuse.

Your Say

Fascinating article. I remember that era and there are things today that are reminiscence of that. Our school systems for one place false images and histories in our children's minds. Very scary.
The judge above all in this case should have called a halt to the proceedings and demanded more investigations on some of the allegations.

Psychology is little more than a tribe of witch doctors with PhD s.

This has a long history. Janet Reno was involved in some of those prosecutions in Florida. See here.

Some states and cities specifically hire investigators and DA's whose belief system predisposes them to believe in this mordern day witch trial. The fact that the stories are unbelievable is lost on them because they believed before it was said and in fact they often feed the stories to the "victims". Some of these former prosecutors are now spewing their venom on TV shows where they generally specialize in "sex" crimes and if the crime isn't sufficiently exotic for their show they simply add the facts as needed. There should be prosecutors and therapists in jail for this miscarriage of justice. Lacking that there should be personal revenge.

There was a time when if a small child could graphically describe what had been done to her, it was all but certain a crime was committed. But now, with 7-year-olds being taught the mechanics of sex in first and second grade, the game has changed.
