If we believed in omens.... [Bumped]

Birds attack peace doves freed from pope's window: As tens of thousands of people watched in St. Peter's Square on Sunday, a seagull and a large black crow swept down on the doves right after they were set free from an open window of the Apostolic Palace.

Your Say

I recently discovered that a flock of crows is called a 'murder'.

Seagulls, the rats of the sky. If you see people feeding seagulls at the beach kick sand in their face.

Posted by: Potsie at January 26, 2014 11:45 AM

That's not a seagull.
If you see someone kicking sand gang rape their face.

What, you need an omen to see which way the wind is blowing? As if the actual news isn't bad enough? Where have you been? (Okay, the 'wind blows' thing is a nod to Gerard's regard for Bob Dylan.)

And for nancy, you might include the fact that the collective noun for baboons is 'congress'.

Just another in an ongoing series of extraordinary circumstances, realized in the past five years. Let's call it a "isolated incident" eh?

Posted by: Will at January 27, 2014 11:24 AM

Circumstances?, I meant coincidence. More coffee!

Posted by: Will at January 27, 2014 11:27 AM

Will,

It's an UNEXPECTED "isolated incident". FIFY.

This story, and the "cannibal rats" story (above), are my two favorite news items in many years. I don't know why, and I condemn myself for it. Still...
