Update from comments: "It's amazing (well, maybe not) how the MSM can pick up this story as the lead item at full volume, but cannot bring itself to break a sweat over the IRS scandal, ObamaCare, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Obama's transcripts, Iran, Syria, etc, etc, ..." -- Darkwater

Your Say

It's amazing (well, maybe not) how the MSM can pick up this story as the lead item at full volume, but cannot bring itself to break a sweat over the IRS scandal, ObamaCare, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Obama's transcripts, Iran, Syria, etc, etc, ...

This story fits the narrative of the ruling class journalists. Diana West is right...the buggars have gone all Walter Duranty again.

Christie's real sin is acting Democrat while Republican. This is the sh!t that Democrats have been pulling since forever; remember the administration's willful and blatant obstructionism during the recent government shut down, just to name a recent example?

Say what? That's already in the Memory Hole, you say? Uh, sorry, I'd forgotten.

Our MSM has turned into Pravda and our politicians are trying to turn us into the USSR.

Once again we are shown how despite whatever the 'facts on the ground' are, the main stream media can still wield the power to influence large numbers in a very short time. The more ignorant and gullible, the low information set if you will, will be successfully swayed. For long enough anyway.

Long enough to divert attention away from Obamacare. Long enough to divert attention away from the crumbling economy and the massive debt we have incurred. Long enough to win the 2012 presidential election. Maybe long enough to miss-direct a sufficient amount of attention and sway the 2014 election towards the democrats. Perhaps long enough to get Hillary elected in 2016.
In today's world of an almost continuous news cycle, the mainstream media act like combined arms in a blitzkrieg attack. Bringing massive force to bear at a single point, to destroy it.
This is battle space preparation for 2014 and 2016.

While those on the center and right talk issues, or the under girding philosophies which shape political views. While we debate what's best for society and individuals. While we try to explain economics, the left understands power. How to seize it, wield it, and keep it.

The mainstream media are the Panzers and Luftwaffe of shaping public opinion. They are brought to bear on the enemy to destroy them. Palin, this fat fool Christie (never did like him), Kenneth Starr before that, Goldwater back long ago. The game remains the same.

A game laid out by people like Walter Lippmann and Edward Bernays. Both served on Wilson's Committee on Public Information. Both men were dubious about democracy. Beranys wrote in his 1928 book titled 'Propaganda' that,

The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind

Today, the democrats along with their media arm have this polished down to an art form. That's why the so-called immigration reform is so important to them. As the economy crumbles and even the low information set begins to see the truth, they are replaced with newer, poorer, less educated and more gullible new immigrants.

Tim P, you have hit it out of the park. A perfect explanation of what has happened in our MSM. With your permission I will send this to all my list.

Tim gets it. It is not about 'news'. It is about battle space preparation.

.

So what exactly is the difference between what Christie did, and what Obama did in the gov't shutdown?

Can someone please explain it to me so I understand?

Kristie Kreme's people made the mistake of messing with the wrong set of people here. the reach and depth of this story v. the rest mentioned can be broken out as follows:

- Attacking the civil liberties of the progressive's opposition = interesting, but not something that can't be reasoned through, plus, there is no recorded proof anyone that matters approved it in triplicate. and Obama retroactively made it legal, so there.

- Covering up a terrorist attack during an election season and throwing a man in prison as a distraction = well, it was an important election, and the man is out now, and what difference does it make anyway?

- Red lines = what red lines? I didn't see any red lines.

- Running guns to the Mexican drug cartels, leading to the death of thousands of Mexicans, and at least two Border Patrol agents = there is no recorded proof this was an effort to bolster attempts to control guns, which are dangerous, so we should control guns

- Inconveniencing people in the NY Metro area, where the news factory is headquartered = beware the wrath of the perpetually pissed off liberals and their political allies, fat boy! you will pay for your attack on the time of Democrat voting commuters!

So, is the HillBilly machine behind this?
You are aware, aren't you, that they will haunt you all of your days, right?

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this website.
It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's challenging to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and visual appearance.
I must say you have done a very good job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Firefox.

Exceptional Blog!
