“Republicans need to ask what’s wrong with our business model.”

But just what is the current Republican business model? It really resembles the business model of the Washington Generals, an exhibition basketball team.
The job of the Generals is to play second fiddle to the Harlem Globetrotters. There is logic in this. The reason why the GOP business model is in crisis is that the audience is beginning to suspect the game is fixed. Nobody can plausibly run on “Republican principles” any more. Pledges to cut the bloated bureaucracy, close the borders to illegal immigration or put a stop to endless expansion have a ring of insincerity. Ticket sales are slumping. And the Trotters aren’t even pretending to take the Generals seriously. - - Belmont Club Juggernaut

Your Say

Republicans have shifted so far to the left they are pushing the democrats further to the left.

If the republicans want to win an election they need to stand for limited government, more freedom and reducing spending. Unfortunately the idiots that still vote republican keep voting for the shift to the left, bigger government, more spending and less freedom.

Republicans are red,
democrats are blue,
neither party works for you.

Potsie's right again. Every now and then an actual Republican candidate comes along and the party establishment freaks out. The party establishment fought Reagan every step of the way. He had to pry the nomination from their chubby fingers. Kewpie-Doll Boehner is typical of those clowns.

Civil Rights and Freedom from slavery, the particular accomplishments of the Republican Party, are not celebrated, promoted, or "capitalized" on by the GOP. They have been unable to own their own accomplishments. I've watched for years as the GOP, when rarely in leadership, has no idea how to be large and in-charge. No idea how to use their powers for good, but sure know how to use inside information for their own portfolios. Eff 'em.

The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.

America doesn't need a third political party, America needs a second political party.
