"Baby, it's [Global Warming] Outside"

"The Arctic is warming up because hot air rises. That hot air is displacing the cold air at the North Pole because cold hair is heavier and falls to the south." Via Jimmy J in comments

Continue to Remind the Alarmists that It’s Cold Out. They Deserve It : Without fail, every single global warming alarmist (and, thus, every single media outlet) screams GLOBAL WARMING at the top of their lungs
at every adverse weather event that doesn’t involve simple cold. A tornado touches down on top of a school? GLOBAL WARMING. (Never you mind that the total number of tornadoes hit record lows in 2013.) A hurricane demolishes New Orleans? GLOBAL WARMING. (Ignore that the hurricane in question was a mere category 3 when it made landfall and the city’s levees had been weakened by decades of incompetent management. Also ignore that the total number of hurricanes is way down.) Heat wave? GLOBAL WARMING. (Because before 1990 there was never a heat wave, ever.) Snowstorms? GLOBAL WARMING. (No. Seriously.) I assume someone somewhere is arguing that the polar vortex making everything really cold also proves that global warming is real. I don’t have the strength to Google it.

Your Say

Oh yes the AGW mookies were all over local news last night. Seems we have a drought in NorCal and that proves global warming. The local weatherguy put his head on the block by listing all the previous droughts back to the turn of the 20th Century including some that went on for years. He won't be around long.

The most laughable explanation I have heard. Paraphrasing: "The Arctic is warming up because hot air rises. That hot air is displacing the cold air at the North Pole because cold hair is heavier and falls to the south." Yes, up and down are considered to be north and south on the planet. They can't understand the distinction between vertical elevation and latitude.

This should not be too surprising. Many of their other "proofs" are similarly nonsensical.

You know it's been cold when today's 21 deg's feels downright balmy.

Saturday it's going up to 50 which should feel tropical.

These two sites are by far the best at reporting on the "carbon" scare:

http://wattsupwiththat.com

http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com

Since the Little Ice Age in the 1600's, the planet has steadily warmed at ≈0.35º per century, whether CO2 ["carbon"] was low, or high. Thus, "carbon" [CO2] makes no difference at all to the planet's temperature.

CO2 has risen from 3 parts in 10,000, to 4 parts in 10,000, over the past century and a half. Hardly something to worry about. But you don't get grant money by admitting that there is no problem. [There would have been no crowd, either, if Chicken Little had realized it was only an acorn.]

You can't use facts on the climate alarmist crowd. They are as impervious to scientific facts and evidence as any religious True Believers. The planet could descend into another Ice Age, with glaciers covering Chicago a mile deep, and the "carbon" contingent would still be screaming, "It's global warming!!"

The problem is, they want to have "carbon" taxes -- administered by the totally corrupt, opaque UN. As if that would 'save the planet'. Yeah. As if.

Jimmy J - I wondered about that knowledge discrepancy. Just for fun, get him to explain why, then, it's so cold in the upper hemisphere, and so hot down south.

Head. Exploding. Heh

@tim Growing up in northern Wisconsin, my Mom's rule was that it had to be above 40 degrees before my brother and I were allowed to go outside in anything lighter than a parka. As soon as the snow would start melting, we'd be running around in t-shirts. No joke. I've spent the last 20 years living in the south and I can't believe how cold 40 degrees has gotten since then.
