Your Say

Anyone else think this was a work?

I think GLAAD is eating something other than crow.

A&E cleverly threaded this needle as a business matter: 1). Not only had most of the country never heard of Duck Dynasty, it had never even heard of A&E (many probably thought it was some kind of root beer). Now, the whole country knows what the A&E and Duck Dynasty brands are. 2) With many months of new programming in the can, and to appease its gay clientele, A&E loudly suspended what I'm told is the star of the show; not fired, just suspended. Hell, he wasn't going to do any A&E work for months anyway, so no business loss there. 3). A&E immediately began back-to-back reruns of Duck Dynasty programs so the newly aware populace could see what it had been missing, and maybe generate a bunch more loyal viewers. 4). Finally, A&E unsuspended its purported star so that he and the family/cast will be ready to go back to work when needed. Obamacare should have rolled out so smoothly.

BillyH, I think you attribute WAY too much credit to A&E than they ever could accumulate. They are much more a product of "political correctness" than they are smart.

Owned by Disney and Hersch, located in the hub of Gay Pride, NYC and coming fresh off of the latest Alec Baldwin and MsPMSnbc fiasco, they were literally shaking in their loafers and feared what was headed their way.

They never considered the Chick-Fil-A factor in their reasoning, as most dopey libs tend to do. IMHO
